Greetings, podcasters! In case some of you are interested in attending, I thought I’d let you all know (or remind you) about this year’s BlogWorld & New Media Expo, which will be held at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City from June 5-7.
The annual BlogWorld Expo began in 2007 and has since been known to list incredible keynote speakers such as Leo Laporte, Chris Brogan, and Cali Lewis to name a few. In fact, the PodcastAnswerman Cliff Ravenscraft himself is reported to be speaking this year!
Whether you're just a beginner or a seasoned veteran, attending such an event will give you great opportunities to share ideas with fellow podcasters and listen to experts and industry leaders as they give tips and advice on how you can improve and excel as a podcaster. It's a great place to expand your knowledge and network in the field.
Do you consider yourself as a gadget freak? If so then you’ll definitely be able to relate with these guys, The Gadget Gurus. Enjoy listening to their podcast as they discuss the latest happenings in the world of tech and gadgets.

In their latest episode, Vic Webb, Donny Benfield, and guest co-host Bill Stebbins start off the show by talking about Apple TV’s current UI design which was said to be rejected by Steve Jobs 5 years ago. Other topics of discussion included was Facebook’s response to reports about employers asking for their employees’ Facebook passwords, and whether it’s really worth upgrading your iPad or not. But I think the two main highlights of the show is where they talk about the best routers and especially the part when Vic and Donny ganged up on Bill for his preference of the Android phone over the iPhone, which they both own. You just have to hear it yourself.
The latest to join the league of stars who own a Ferrari is award-winning singer and performer Eric Clapton. Few photos have been released previously and just few days ago, a video of his new custom Ferrari being released from a London dealership hit the web.
Dubbed as SPC-12 EPC for “Special Project Car, number 12, Eric Patrick Clapton”, the specially designed car took two years to finish and costs a whopping $4.75M. It is a tribute to the singer’s favorite 70's Ferrari 512BB which he crashed. The SP12 is based on a Ferrari 458 Italia, powered by a V-8 engine, features a two-tone color scheme, oversize wheels, angular headlights and other special additions coming from different models of different eras.
See Clapton’s new toy being delivered to his home in this vid.
Budget fashionistas out there will dig fashion stylist Chriselle Lim’s creativity with this piece of cloth, which she deftly transforms into 20 outfits. Also, this video’s clever editing helps keep the viewer’s interest, especially since Chriselle’s voice seems a tad muffled here.
Thank you, Chriselle, for making me want to introduce my scissors to our drapes.
British mod rocker Paul Weller debuts at number one spot in the UK album charts after his latest offering Sonik Kicks was released last Monday. The former Jam frontman proved that despite being in the business for 40 years, he is still going strong. This is his eleventh album after launching a solo career in the early 90’s.
Will South Park be taking a jab at the GOP Debate in their upcoming episode? With the episode entitled “Faith Hilling”, one is left to wonder if it has any reference to the singer’s reaction during the 2006 CMA when she lost the Female Vocalist of the Year award to Carrie Underwood. I can’t wait to find out who’ll be doing the ‘Faith Hilling’. See it this Wednesday at 10/9c.
Just like last year, Christopher Nolan and the cast of one of the highly anticipated movies of 2012 won't be making an appearance in this year's Comic-Con in San Diego. Talk about deja vu.
News gained momentum when film critic and editor, Drew McWeeny, posted a tweet followed by an article over at HitFlix.com asserting his claim. Given Drew’s sources (and his track record), it’s a bit hard to say if his statement is a bit premature or not.
The Comic-Con will commence on the 12th of July, whereas the movie The Dark Knight Rises will hit theatres almost a week after on the 20th.
The Hunger Games has set a US box office record in its opening weekend, taking home $155m and grabbed the top spot for this week’s top grossing movies. The film, based on Suzanne Collin’s novel, hit the highest tally that is not a sequel and got third place for the best opening of all time behind The Dark Knight ( $158.4m) and Harry Potter finale ($169.2m). It stars Jennifer Lawrence, an Oscar nominee in 2011 for the movie Winter’s Bone.
