Autoblog Podcast – The podcast for car enthusiasts!

Greetings, readers! As some of you might remember, I featured a podcast the other day that caters primarily to Formula 1 fans. After I posted it I felt that I somehow left some of you out with nothing so today I thought I’d feature something that every gearhead and car enthusiast can appreciate, and not just racing fans. Let me present The Autoblog Podcast!

Hosted by Chris Shunk, Dan Roth, and Zach Bowman, the guys discuss several car makes and models on each episode so you don’t end up listening to two or more guys talk about the same car for over an hour. The show covers everything, and I do mean everything about cars, auto shows, new model releases, from SUVs to compacts. If this podcast were a magazine, it’d be stacked up on the shelf alongside ‘Car And Driver’ or ‘Road & Track’.

Feel free to drop by Autoblog’s official site as well as their iTunes channel.

Johnny Depp and Marilyn Manson Rocked Fans During LA concert

It took a while before thousands of rock and heavy metal fans realized that they’ve just rocked to the guitar sound of one of the biggest stars in Hollywood during the 2012 Revolver Golden Gods Awards held in Los Angeles last Wednesday night.

Marilyn Manson’s number, ‘Sweet Dreams’ was graced by a special guitar performance by Johnny Depp. Yes, that Johnny Depp. Sporting a black button-down shirt, black jeans, black boots, and a black cowboy hat that covered most of his face, he was able to keep a fairly low profile onstage.

Depp’s presence was only revealed right after Marilyn Manson told the audience, “If you don’t recognize my personal friend … my personal savior, my personal guitar hero … Johnny Depp!” to which they cheered.

Watch Depp display his guitar skills below:

Avengers Assemble Featurette

Just when you thought that you’ve finally gotten over the anxiety from anticipating its arrival into theaters, here comes Marvel once again with not just a trailer, but a featurette to whet your appetite even more.

The clip contains behind-the-scenes footage, and interview snippets of Director Joss Whedon, and actors Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson. Avengers Assemble arrives in cinemas on May 4th.

Oh, and here’s a little bonus for those of you who still haven’t seen it. It’s the first full clip from the movie featuring a scene where the vivacious Scarlett Johansson’s character Black Widow is being interrogated by some group of unscrupulous characters.

Stüssy’s Facebook Campaign Earns Mucho Dislike

Amsterdam-based edgewear line Stüssy has launched a Facebook ad campaign that has quickly earned its fair share of controversy. The campaign, Strip for Likes, calls for Facebook users to Like a fully-clothed model’s photo, wherein the model gradually strips off layers of her outfit based on how many Likes she gets.

Arnold Amsterdam concocted this campaign, with Creative Director Colin Lamberton stating, “As you can imagine the model must be suffocating under that many layers of clothing. It is almost a public duty to free her out of this misery so we are expecting Facebook fans to help out here. Like and undress.”

However, some reacted to the program, calling it ‘misogynistic’ and ‘degrading.’ Since the idea was born in Amsterdam where nudity is not quite an issue, this could be more of a cultural gap between locals and foreign consumers. Also, the brand aims for ‘edge and rumor’ built around its image so it seems to have achieved that well. But the biggest question that hangs over the public’s heads is, where does the strict implementation of Facebook’s policy figure in here now, where it states, “You must not use Facebook features or functionality, such as the Like button, as a voting mechanism for a promotion.”?
