NFL Star Tom Brady Shows Off His Acting In FoD Video

Although it may very well just be an attempt to advertise Under Armour, one really has to give it to NFL star Tom Brady for doing such a pretty good job at showing off his acting skills. In this 3-minute short vid, the New England quarterback poses a shopper in a sporting goods store who inadvertently finds himself being made fun of for a Boston accent he doesn’t even have. Check out the vid below to see how well (or not?) Tom did his part:

This actually isn’t the first time this native Californian put his acting skills to the test; aside from hosting Saturday Night Live in ’04 and also appearing in the HBO TV series Entourage, he made a cameo as a computer geek in the movie Stuck On You back in 2003. So anyways, what do you think? Did the Patriot player show enough acting skill to maybe convince someone in Hollywood that he’s got comedic potential?

G.I. Joe: Retaliation Release Date Moves to 2013

Fans were surely thrilled to see the second installment of G.I. Joe when its trailer was shown on the big screen. The ninja cliff sequence is a thing to watch and everyone just can’t wait for it to be shown this year. Alas, the waiting will take much longer than expected as Paramount Pictures has opted to move its release date from June 29 to March 29, 2013.

According to the studio, it intends to do a total 3D conversion of the film, hence the date change. Although it’s a wise move by the film outfit as this year’s summer season has a lot of blockbuster movies waiting to be released and releasing it next year would mean less competition at the box office, the move is rather too long for the fans to wait. Retaliation has already generated a lot of buzz and fans are eager to see it this year. With the way Avengers dominated the box office, upcoming movies like The Amazing Spider-Man and Dark Knight Rises are expected to do well also.

Maybe an August release would be more fitting because other high-budget flicks will already have been shown by then while the fans’ anticipation for another high-budget blockbuster-in-the-making movie would still be there.

Lohan Still Owes 40K Worth Of Tanning

It was nine months ago when a Nevada judge ordered Lindsay Lohan to pay a tanning salon $40,000 worth of unpaid services from 2007-2009. Well, surprise, surprise. As it turns out that the Mean Girls actress actually has yet to settle the 3-year-old bill, which is why Lorit Simon of Tanning Vegas decided to move the case to Miss Lohan’s adopted home state of California. By doing so, the tanning salon can at least attempt to garnish LiLo’s assets and wages to satisfy the legal judgment and settle the debt until payment is delivered in full.

OK, so Tanning Bed Mom Patricia Krentcil was banned in every tanning salon in Jersey for subjecting her 5-year-old daughter to the UV bed but somehow they can’t get a high-profile celebrity like Lohan, who’ll have a tough time to go in hiding, to pay her bill on time? And that’s 2 years’ worth of bills, mind you.

Two New ‘Dark Knight Rises’ TV Spots

With just a few more months of waiting for The Dark Knight to rise, here are two new television spots that hit the web last May 24 that shows the lighter side of a serious series closer.

Director Christopher Nolan’s approach of the film may be dark but he’s not afraid to put in some humor to lighten things up. Here are the two clips.

The first clip sees the return of Bruce Wayne into the game. After running from the authorities because of Harvey’s death, he reaches out to Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman), the man who made his gadgets.

The second clip features Selina Kyle a.k.a. Catwoman (Anne Hathaway), in a masquerade ball, talking and dancing briefly with Bruce Wayne. It also shows her in the famous cat burglar suit.

Rihanna Goes Nude For Her New Perfume Ad (NSFW)

How would you promote a product with the name ‘Nude’? I’d bet that the very first thing that probably popped in your head was sheer nudity, or at least a generous display of skin, wasn’t it? Well, that’s exactly what Rihanna did in her photo ad for her latest fragrance called, well, Nude!

Rihanna’s close friend, Melissa Forde posted some behind-the-scene photos on her Instagram showing Rihanna naked from the waist up as she covers the right areas with her arms. She also had to say ‘bye-bye’ to her dreadlocks as she now sports a blonde hair though you can still plainly see what remains of her brunette hair at the roots.

This kind of news shouldn’t really come off as a shocker to anyone who’s already quite familiar with Rihanna’s body-baring antics. After all, she did strip in her latest music video Where Have You Been and also posted some very provocative pictures of her stay in Hawaii.

Anyway, her new fragrance Nude is set to be released by fall of this year.

Kylie Minogue Releases ‘Timebomb’

Britney Spears and Demi Lovato Join X Factor

Britney Spears, the biggest pop phenom of the 2000s, and actress Demi Lovato have joined Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid on X Factor. Both Spears and Lovato filled the void left by Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger who were fired by Cowell after a not-so-good first season in 2011.

Said Cowell in previous statement, “Britney remains one of the biggest stars in the world, she’s talented, fascinating – and I believe she knows exactly how to spot The X Factor,”

“Demi’s had an amazing career in music, TV and film for someone her age. She’s young, confident, and enthusiastic. I think it’s really important that she speaks to our younger audience.”

According to sources, Lovato showed a lot of spunk while Britney walked out of the set during their first day, which caused a stir behind the scenes, but she later tweeted that she just took a little break and is having the best time.

Above is the official photo of season 2 judges with Spears seated to Cowell’s right and Lovato to Reid’s left.

Lady Gaga Causing Quite A Stir In Asia Tour

It seems like Lady Gaga’s really been living up to her reputation for being quite the “Monster” while on her Asia tour. To think that she’s still only on the first leg of her world tour, the Fame Monster has already been making quite a bit of a stir.

First it was her provocative costumes and songs that drew protests from the religious and conservative Christian groups in Korea and the Philippines, then it was from the even more conservative Islamist militants in Indonesia. But recently in Thailand, it was different. It was about a tweet that involves shopping for fake Rolex watches.

On May 23rd, Wednesday night just after she arrived on her private jet, Gaga tweeted:

It didn’t take long before it sparked an online uproar, especially among Thai locals who called as it offensive, insulting and bad for the country’s image. But of course not all fans felt the same as hordes of them turned up at the airport and greeted their idol.

Lady Gaga’s next stop after Bangkok will be in Singapore on May 28th, 29th, and 31st. Her concert in Jakarta, Indonesia on June 3rd has been cancelled.

Get Lost With Upcoming Star Audrianna Cole

Just a few hours ago, one of my best friends sent me a link to indie artist Audrianna Cole, commenting that she ‘sounds like Adele.’ Well, for me Audrianna doesn’t quite sound like the award-winning Brit sensation, but her voice carries a distinctly soulful and melancholic punch. After listening to You’ve Got My Heart,  an upbeat track with a walk-in-the-park vibe, I was hooked.

She was nominated for the ‘Best Pop Artist’ award in very first Artists in Music Awards at the Key Club in West Hollywood last February 2012. And last April, Universal Music Pblishing signed her up to be one of their newest artists.

Check out her latest release, I’d Get Lost With You, a haunting profession of love. Kleenex, please.

You can view more of her videos in her YouTube Channel and purchase her albums at her iTunes website.

The End of ‘Idol’: There Are No More Songs Left To Be Sung

The 11th season of American Idol has just wrapped up and music critic Ann Powers has something in store for us about the said show. Since following it for six seasons as a critic, writer and big fan of past winners, it has somehow made a dragging impact which led to boredom for most enthusiasts. With other similar shows like Cowell’s X Factor and The Voice emerging on the scene and having better song selections and cooler celebrity panelists, this year’s Idol found its first episode the least-watched in its history.

Powers points out why the show is slowly fading. One of the reasons is the same kind of contestant wins. It’s generally won by a “white guy with guitar” many times in a row. Take this year’s top winner Phillips, who is no different from the past winners. Meanwhile, Jessica Sanchez, who finished as a runner-up, is another classic Idol mode – a teenager with a huge voice who sings ballads and soul.  Another is you hear the same songs over and over again. So basically there’s nothing new on the show.
