Steve Carell and Keira Knightley star in a new romantic dramedy film, Seeking a Friend. The upcoming movie isn’t your usual apocalypse, doomsday movie or a “normally kind of big Hollywood blockbuster with heroes trying to save the world, and everything” as Knightley said. The movie focuses on universal truth, hitting the big question of how you can live best on final days of existence when the end of the world is coming.
The two stars talk about the film in this interview by Rebecca Ford of the Hollywood Reporter. Carell noted that writer and director Lorene Scafaria took a risk, saying, “It’s not purely comedic, and it’s not purely dramatic either…It walks that line between the two.”
The film also stars Adam Brody, Gillian Jacobs, Melanie Linskey, Connie Britton and Rob Corddry. It hits theaters on June 22.
