Whether you’re an artist or an art aficionado, chances are you’re going to appreciate today’s featured podcast. It’s called The Modern Art Notes podcast, a program that deals with – you guessed it – the modern arts. Hosted by Tyler Green, the show is an independent production of Modern Art Notes Media and it features an endless list of artists, curators, art historians and authors.
In this particular episode, which was released on May 3rd, host Tyler Green drops by the Pace Gallery in New York to interview Installation artist, Robert Irwin. Highlights of the show were Irwin’s talk about his landmark 1° 2° 3° 4° piece of 1997, his discovery of his trademark material, scrim; and his thoughts on Lawrence Weschler’s book about him entitled Seeing Is Forgetting the Name of the Thing One Sees. Other topics of discussion include Irwin’s continuing passion and dedication to making art, his best work and his favorites.
Irwin’s exhibit Dotting the i’s & Crossing the t’s will remain on display at the Pace Gallery on 57th Street up till June 23rd.
