Actress Natalie Portman has officially tied the knot with her fiance choreographer Benjamin Millepied in a nighttime private Jewish ceremony in California, People reports. The couple met on the set of Oscar-winning movie Black Swan in 2010 and have a 14-month old son named Aleph.
A source said that “the beauty of the weekend was that it was kept a secret, and everyone was relaxed and had a great time because of it.” Guests weren’t allowed to take pictures of the event and they were transported by shuttle with very tight security.
On the night at the Academy Awards back in February, Portman and Millepied were spotted wearing bands on their ring fingers causing speculations that the two were already married, but neither commented on the rumors. Portman did credit Millepied though in her acceptance speech, giving her “the most important role of [her] life.”
Now that Portman is married to a French guy, she may consider becoming a French citizen as well.
Portman said, “I now have the possibility of taking on French nationality. It would accomplish the Francophile dreams of my father and myself. I lived in Paris when I was 12 and my father gave me the name Natalie as homage to Gilbert Bécaud’s song. Everything in my life has drawn me towards a French family.”
