It’s confirmed, actor Sam Claflin will play the pivotal role of Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. So the long wait for finding District 4’s champion is finally over.
The Snow White and the Huntsman actor is the newest addition to the sequel, which will be directed by Francis Lawrence. For those who have not known yet, the charismatic character of Finnick Odair from District 4 was the winner of the 65th annual Hunger Games at the tender age of 14. Aside from his good looks, he is best known for his skills in swimming and proficiency in using the trident.
Claflin will join Tony Shalhoub, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jena Malone, Amanda Plummer, Lynn Cohen, Bruno Gunn, Alan Ritchson, E. Roger Mitchell, and Meta Golding along with Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, and Woody Harrelson who will be reprising their roles.
Fans of the hunky actor will surely love to see him in the sequel. As for Claflin, it seems that he’s on a roll in getting high-profile projects, as he has appeared alongside Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth in Snow White and the Huntsman and in the fourth Pirates of the Carribean with A-lister Johhny Depp.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will hit theaters on November 22, 2013.
