British film director Tony Scott’s suicide was reportedly caught on camera by witnesses and has been shopped around to media agencies.

According to TMZ, they were offered copies of footage from multiple onlookers that showed Scott moments before he jumped from the Vincent Thomas Bridge in Los Angeles at midday Sunday but claimed to not have bought it.

The filmmaker committed suicide in full view of a harbor cruise ship with witnesses taking photos and videos when they saw a man scaling on a fence on the bridge. One of the eyewitnesses said, “He landed right next to our tour boat, and many of us saw the whole thing.”

Scott was best known for his blockbuster Top Gun and Days of Thunder, Beverly Hills Cop 2, and Enemy of the State.
