Keanu Reeves is making a big screen comeback but it may take a little longer for us to see it as his latest film has run into some major trouble. His next movie 47 Ronin, his second big budget film since The Matrix Trilogy, will hit theaters on Feb. 8, 2013 instead of its initial target release of November 21 this year.
According to a report by The Wrap, Universal Studios has ousted the veteran commercials director Carl Rinsch for the samurai epic film, thus making him no longer in control of the editing. The film’s budget has increased massively from an original $175m to $225m. Now, the finishing touches are being created by studio co-chair Donna Langley.
47 Ronin, which is based on a Japanese legend in 18th century by a group of samurai who avenge the death of their master, casts Keanu Reeves and a large number of Japanese actors.
With its release getting moved, hope the long wait is worth it.
