One of the most prestigious film festivals is set to kick off on Thursday and movie scribes are excited to see which film will be the next hit. After a series of blockbuster movies shown this summer, now comes the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) which showcases variety of films from all over the world. It captures the imagination of film directors as well as movie fans with some big announcements for the upcoming event.
It’s going to be an exciting year for the festival than past years and compared to other premiere festivals like Sundance and Cannes, TIFF has diversity being a key factor for its success. From major studio movies to small independent movies, documentaries from all over the world that may not get attention by everyone, it has everything inside the bag.
TIFF features notable films premiering on the event, so you will not have to wait for so long to see them. With the last six Best Picture Academy Award-winners getting their debut at TIFF, expect for a bigger one this year.
Opening the night will be Bill Condon’s The Fifth Estate which stars Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek Into Darkness) as Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks. The first weekend features great movies so it’s going to be hard for the attendees to decide which one they want to see. Comingsoon covers some of the highlighted movies to be shown, which could very well get a nod for future Golden Globe and Oscar nominations.
