Disney Interactive has just announced that it is developing Star Wars Attack Squadrons, their newest free-to-play, browser-based space combat game. It’s pretty much reminiscent of World of Warplanes, only with the Lucas franchise all over it.

Developed by Area 52, the game is a ‘team-based dogfighting multiplayer game,’ according to its press release. It allows up to 16 players at a time, and comes in three gameplay modes: Free For All, Team Dogfight, and Base Defense.

Star Wars: Attack Squadrons will also allow players to acquire items, upgrades, and rewards, customize their ship, and receive monthly content updates. Although little is still mentioned about its current stages of development, interested players can already sign up for the beta right here.
