There is a leak by a South African retailer that has listed BioShock Collection for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. According to Raru, the collection will be released in November for the current-gen consoles, although there hasn’t yet been any confirmation of the release date.
Most likely the BioShock Collection will include BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock Infinite along with related DLC’s. Raru was previously responsible for leaking other games ahead of their scheduled release, such as Splatoon Amiibo.
BioShock hasn’t seen any other development, and the game’s status has been unclear since February 2014 when its developer Irrational Games was shut down. Co-Founder Ken Levine revealed that he is starting a new endeavor for Irrational Games’ owner Take-Two Interactive. “I am winding down Irrational Games as you know it,” he also continued “I’ll be starting a smaller, more entrepreneurial endeavour at Take-Two.”
The project that Levine mentioned hasn’t been revealed yet but it was said that it will run on Epic Games Unreal Engine 4, featuring an inspired narrative of that’s somewhat like Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor.
Levine continued, “Two years ago, I started thinking about how to build a system to let story be as variable as gameplay and still be awesome in the way story can be awesome. Could you have characters, conflicts, and dialogue that could end not in 100 states, not in 1,000, but in X to the Y states? Goodbye linear, hello geometric! And that’s the new big thing that my colleagues and I have been working on at our yet-unnamed new studio. In March, I gave a talk at the Game Developers Conference about some of our ideas. We called it ‘Narrative Legos.’ The goal is to make a flexible narrative that is broadly replayable and strongly adaptive to player choice.”
BioShock‘s recent titles such as BioShock Infinite were released for the PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360.
