TS114: We Have A Proposition For You

2012-10-18
Length: 1s

Even with pushing the podcast aside due to the usual crazy that is my life, I couldn't let this election season go by without getting the gang together to talk about the Ballot Propositions on the Arizona ballot!

Just me and the boys this time- Miles, Naum, and Sean- and we went over several of the "hot ticket" items to hopefully help you make some sense of all the nonsense. We all have just enough ideological differnces to make for some good (and at times, heated) discussions. Rest assured no one was harmed during the recording of this show. Oh and PS- I didn't edit, so please do not laugh too hard at all my "likes" and "you knows".

Props discussed:

115: Judge selection process

120: State sovereignty

121: Open primary elections

204: Education tax

114: Crime victims liability

Here on the event page are more links to further your knowledge. We hope we didn't confuse you further! Enjoy- and VOTE on November 6th!

TS113: What 'War on Women'?

2012-07-19
Length: 1s

Recorded back in April- still relevent. This time we focus on women's issues and how the right to choose what to do with our bodies continues to be controlled by others. You know, those people in the government who believe in freedom and stuff.

- A newbie! Hello Cheyenne!

-Dani makes Miles feel like a piece of meat.

-Republican women- what ARE they doing?

-No one is thinking big picture with these new bills restricting aborion services.

-Fear and anger work.

-When does life actually begin?

-Who has a right to dictate?

-It's not "pro-life"

-Mind your business!

-Forced-informed opinion. Wha?

-Having a website full of futuses is guilt.

-Should the government just stay out of it?

-Why does everyone pick on women?

-Dani wants to raise her own flock- ok not really.

-Good luck jumping out of that airplane.

-Miles tells a joke!

-We want opposing viewpoints!

-Miles keeps boiling it down to property.

-Next on Maury Povich...

-Oh, NOW we need government to control people and business.

-Can hospitals and pharacists really refuse service?

-If you're tax exempt, you have no say in what you can do.

-Switching gears, there is no war on women!

-Is salary more important for men?

-Can gender roles change?

-Who holds out for more when you talk salary?

-What are women really worried about?

-Will all of this backfire come November?

-From women to... voting.

-We can't stop talking!

TS112: A Shot Of Reason

2012-05-04
Length: 1s

Well, we hope. One thing we are finding out at these roundtable discussions is even though we have great discussions of the details, we don't really disagree on the bottom line. I'm going to try harder for future discussions to get more opposing views. We don't bite- I promise! We just want to truly understand where others are coming from.

This episode was originally recorded in February. Yes, February. Shut up, I know. However, the topic continues to be relative as dieseases such as measles and pertussis are slowing making comebacks. In Washington state they have to tap into emergency funds and practically have an epidemic of whopping cough on their hands. Which could all be prevented if everyone were up to date and vaccinated.

You see my bias- I believe in vaccinations. I believe in the science behind them, and proof is everywhere that they work, and do more good than harm. The link between vaccines and autism has been debunked. As much as I try to understand what the fear is in those who do not vaccinate their children, I can't. Reasons I've read and heard do not match up with the science.

So I gathered the roundtable crew of  DebbieDan, and Miles, and we had a pretty good discussion. I apologize for the background noise- there was a gathering in the other room, and they were quite chatty.

TS111: Which Way Does Your Compass Point?

2012-02-25
Length: 1s

Two shows within one month- that must be a new record!

We are back with another Round Table! The regulars are almost all here, as well as a couple of newcomers! We've got Debbie, Miles, and Sean, plus Crystal and Naum!

This episode we all took the Political Compass Test, and discussed not only our results, but about the questions themselves, and how some were hard to answer. Highlights:

RECORDED JANUARY 17TH

-Tests teach society to lie,

-View of the US from other countries.

-A bunch of white people start talking about race.

-SOPA/PIPA- yep that's how old this recording is. I thought about cutting it, but then again it's good to know what it is because it will come up again in Congress.

-What was the topic?

-Is it class or race/nationality that divides us?

- Should taxpayer money fund museums

- What is education, exactly?

- We're angry, dammit!

- PBS, oh that PBS.

- Pray for a benevolent dictator.

- Rehab or punishment

- We create more prisoners than are criminal.

- Elected leaders and coercing their views.

- We're all Libertarian, we just don't know it yet!

- Sex!

- Who knew that when you get to know someone, stereotypes just don't hold up.

- Get us some porn.

- We need a contrarian to our topics.

Protest Internet Censorship!

2012-01-17

I'm offline today- and leaving all of you browsing by information on the SOPA and PIPA bills currently in Congress. They are anti-piracy laws. If passed with the current wording, industries would have WAY too much power over sites they can shut down. Just because in your little home video on you tube there's a music video by Maroon 5 playing in the background.

I'm not kidding. It's so serious that Wikipedia, Reddit, and other high-profile websites are going black for 24 hours in protest. Educate yourself, and read more about these bills:

Tons of info on the FB page too!

Welcome to the first part of the first of what I hope are many discussions- the first Truth Seekers Round Table! Once a month a group of misfits will meet to plan taking over the universe.

Our plans are not hidden, we record everything so we can put it in our memiors later.

Today I am joined by Debbie, Dan, Miles, and Sean! We start things off with introductions, and why we have the views we do. Things get crazy from there- and this is only part 1!! Part 2 will be live in a couple of days.

It's a guest! It's a guest! Finally, someone other than that Scott guy visits the studio and does a little seeking- it's my good friend Dan Shaurette! Yes, this was recorded three weeks ago. No, the topic is definitely not outdated- we're talking religion! Good times- here's the play-by-play:

-So, who is this Dan guy?

-He likes vampires

-Twilight. Dammit.

-Being ordained over the internet is not a bad thing.

-there is meaning in marrying your friends.

-Atheist vs. Agnostic.

-"Why" is a fair question

-Penn's book: "God, No"

- Mimi Rogers? You mean the actress from the 80's?

-How long should one question belief?

-Open-mindedness is a good thing.

-It's a War On Christmas!

-Repostings on FB

-Xmas fits in a tweet!

-Dani checks her notes

-Go Krackens!

-It's Tebow time

-Dan loves his wife

-Does Christian equal a great person?

-Exposing yourself in a club just makes you a dude.

-...and we're back to Twilight.

-Getting back to sports, how about football... Sigler-style?

-What's next for Dan

-It's not about YOU, it's about IDEAS.

TS106: Truth Seekers In HD

2011-11-18
Length: 1s

On a post-PodcampAZ high.. I am always so inspired after these weekends! Have some great ideas for putting some life back into the show. That means, of course, getting more than one episode a month out!

I will also put audio up from the session I presented at Podcamp this year- on podcasting your politics and still have people take you seriously. It went really well, and ended up being more of a discussion than a speaking presentation. But hey- that's what I'm all about!

For now, here is a show that I recorded with the guest you all have come to know and even like a little here on the show, Scott Josephson! We watched the compelling documentary "Vietnam in HD" on the History Channel, and after a little PodcampAZ banter we get into our thoughts about that. The show runs a little longer than the last couple of episodes, at about an hour. Don't go into cardiac arrest at the change. ;)

We also end with a question for our viewers- so enjoy! Be warned, as is usually the case when Scott is on the show, the explicit tag was earned. Within the first 2 minutes, even!

TS105: Occupy Truth

2011-10-19
Length: 29s

Come on, is anyone surprised I'm going to talk about the Occupy Wall Street movement? I didn't think so. A lot of information, and a lot of links, so let's get to it!

*Overall, great media coverage.

*It's gone global!

*NOT a partisan protest. I repeat- NOT.

*You have no class, baby.

*Herman Cain might blame the gov't, but Wall Street caused the crash. BUT, the gov't didn't exactly prevent it.

*Alternet: 10 Things To Know About Wall Street's Attack On America

*Status Quo.

*Field Negro: Protectors Of Oligarchy

*Don't fall for the tricks.

*Breaking Copy: Media Bias and Occupy Wall Street (a MUST to look at)

*Take it to the voting booth.

*Promo: Riskwear vs. Ex Fumo Gaudiam

*Next topic- changing your name after marriage

*Big Think: Are Women Paying the Price For Taking Their Husband's Name?

*Dani be un-edumacated.

*No, honey, you're not having dinner on the table and a backrub while I turn on the game for you. Unless I get the same tomorrow.

*Facebook Question: Many of my friends, who have and have not taken their husband's name, were in agreement to the stupidity of the study.

*Why is being married and supporting a family a plus in the man's column, but a negative in the woman's?

*Guys, would you take your wife's name?

*Hyper-feminism can make all women look stupid.

*It's about choice. It's about non-judgment. It's about doing what you're happy with.

TS104: To The Death

2011-09-29
Length: 24s

Lots of crazy stuff happening in my life and in the world. Personal obligations keep chipping away at my time... but no way am I gone. ;)

-Started writing this show as I was watching Democracy Now coverage of the Troy Davis execution. This case was a disaster. Let me try and explain why.

Background on the case HERE and HERE.

-You kill a cop, you are convicted without a trial.

-The hypocrisy of the angry mob mentality

-Ah! A reasonable look at this from someone I admire greatly.

-How race plays into incarceration.

-Sean Bell? Who's that?

-Is the prison system racist? The stats are disputed.

-What about the cost of keeping inmates on death row?

-We interrupt this topic for some Lee Coulter.

-One last thought on Troy Davis and the death penalty. Rehab. Hear me out first, then roll your eyes.

-Why I am against the death penalty.

-Feedback time! I have an email to read! Yay!

-In other news, I have taken on a new volunteer position. This one is going to push my limits, that is for sure.

-CASA Program

- Extra reading: Good OpEd on eyewitness accounts and their inaccuracy.

Length: 27s

I have not faded! I seriously thought about it though. I'm feeling like a disgruntled employee. However, I've got my groove back, so let's get back to work, shall we?

- What I did on my summer vacation

- Well, that was quick.

- A mom's work is never done.

- Being out of AZ is like a breath of fresh air.

- Excuse me while I rant about kids, teachers, and Facebook

- You want to hear this local Phoenix band, The Veragroove!

- Ok, how about some politics now?

- Hey it's election season again! Hooray?

- Yep, two-party players are bitching about third party independent voting again.

- The government is bad. Hey wait, aren't WE the government?

- The Tea Party is a genius idea.

- And now, I read you the best opt-ed I've read in two weeks.

TS102: Get Your Morals Out Of My Politics!

2011-06-17
Length: 26s

Summertime! You know what that means...

Actually I have no idea what that means. It's another season.  It's still busy life as usual. That never changes.

I wasn't going to talk about Anthony Weiner. Really, I wasn't. Then my fellow thinkers started talking about it, saying resign and all that stuff.

I want to tell you why he shouldn't. Yeah, I know he has. Bad move, if you ask me.

I'm also going to talk about welfare. Have you ever needed it? No? Then maybe you should stop judging others who do.

Ok then, on with the show!

*What Weiner was working on before the "scandal" erupted. Get it? Erupted?

*Tune from Lee Coulter!

*Mandatory drug testing isn't a good idea.

Guess I need to carry on the show, since the world didn't end last weekend. So I'll cover some feedback- got a great email from my laugh crush Barely over at Barely Podcasting, who caught up on Episode 96: Choice. Also a great audio submission from Tristen! He lives up there north of the US border, and gives us a wrap up of the recent historic Canadian election that took place on May 5th.

Plus a special dedication going out to Jesus! Modern Science!

TS100: Still Ranting After All These Years

2011-05-12
Length: 1s

It only took 5 years, but I have finally made it to episode 100. Of the regular episodes, that is. I've done a bit more than that over the half-decade. And I have a special guest, who made me wait until his BIRTHDAY to post it (nevermind that I didn't get around to editing it until this week).

Anyway, without further ado, let's get to it. It's a long one (that's what she said), an hour and 20 minutes. But you know what? It's my hundreth episode, so screw it! Listen over two days. ;-)

*Recorded on April 21st, 2011*

-100 Regular episodes!

- 7th Annual Pat's Run: our second time running.

-It's a family thing

-Get over your negativity

-Liberal who tolerates Obama

-The Kennedys miniseries

-Not as inaccurate as you might think

-Well, other than that Oswald story...

-Scott's JFK Conspiracy theory

-Libraries are much more than books

- Will reading be less authentic if it goes digital

-How will it change as technology advances

-Scott envies the AZ Podcasting Community

-Amy Donahue update

-Social Media FTW!

-FOOD! We ate so much of it

-And now the drunk cast begins

-In other news, Jesus is on his way

-The End is all in the numbers- the numbers you can just make up.

-Cu-Sack?

-The End is Neigh. What are you going to do?

-Dani doesn't have big dreams

-The end of the world is the chaos we create

-We're writing a book

-Looking back at 100 episodes.

-Start off strong then taper. You can tell I'm a runner.

TS99: Why?

2011-04-26
Length: 48s

Part 2 of my chat with Debbie! I honestly could have talked to her for hours- she has an awesome brain! I also appreciate her being so open and honest when we talk about immigration.

*Not all of us in AZ are crazy. We swear!

*Palin and Gingrich and Trump- OH MY!

*Politics equals hypocrisy.

*Gov't is made up of people, and people are stupid.

*It's 24 hour news' fault.

*No more reporters.

*Are you getting seasick?

*Is "lambasted" even a word?

*And now, we solve the immigration problem. You're welcome, Mexico.

*Upbringing contributes to how you treat other races and cultures.

*Leave the gays alone!

*You can't control who are are attracted to.

*WHY do you think that?

TS98: It's Hard Out There For A Thinker

2011-04-12
Length: 47s

She always writes awesome blog posts and has great thoughts, but one in particular finally moved me to get my friend Debbie Walker on the show! It was a lot of fun, and she is straightforward and unapologetic in her thoughts and her beliefs. We were all over the place, AND this is a two-parter so sit back, grab a beer (or a cider), and listen to us wing it!

**Debbie's Blog: Telling It Like I See It

*I impress her from the start.

*Podcasters rock

*So do skeptics.

*Debbie is observing you.

*Unabashed Athiest

*Immunizations- get your shots!

*Not completely skeptical of everything

*Feel the energy

*Send me an angel

*Debbie loves AZ politics! (insert sarcasm here)

*Bring back Napolitano!

*Felony to get abortion based on race or gender

*why are you so interested in what I do with my body anyway?

*Guns- learn to use the damn thing first, then get your license.

*Dani doesn't shower with a gun.

*And she's not Angelina Jolie.

*AZ wants to give preference to married couples over a single person when adopting a child.

*Why so many hoops anyway?

*Should be just as easy to adopt as to have a baby.

*Pooping out babies!

*Laundry soap? Nom nom nom

*Organ transplants, assissted suicide- limits on "santity of life"

*It sucks to be a thinker!

*End of part 1. Please turn record over for part 2. Or wait a week, it will show up in the feed as Episode 99!

TS Special Edition: Getting Fabulous on the Radio!

2011-04-10
Length: 1s

Back when I was new to this whole audio thing, I put radio segments in the podcast feed. I no longer do it daily (it's really a lot of work to cut/paste 4-6 segments a day!), but every now and then I want to share some of what I'm doing over on KWSS Radio. This past Friday I had my friend Amy Donohue on the show as a co-host, and we had a blast! She also told her story of becoming a kidney doner, and the good and sometimes bad associated with the process.

I took all the tracks and put them together minus music- about an hour. We talk everything from her kidney and the awesome lady getting it, to the 80's and why we love the decade so much. Even a bit of politics sneaks its way in! Enjoy!

Well what do you know? I made it to 5 years of podcasting! It hasn't always been easy, but it's always been fun.

*OMG 5 years!

*Please allow me to make your ears bleed with my very first intro.

*What a ride, but wait- what's really changed over 5 years? Not a  damn thing it seems.

*Crazy in AZ- this should be a new segment.

*Taxes and abortion and guns- OH MY.

*Tune break: Jim's Big Ego "Support The Truth"

*This one time, at the shooting range...

*I think I've been come a bigger advocate of gun control

*You have to learn how to drive before getting a license, why not a gun?

*Even crazy can pass a background check.

*Another tune: The Techinicolors "To Love"

*Will I make it to episode 100 for ScottyJ?

Thanks so much everyone for your support and for listening over the past 5 years!

TS Headlines Week Of 1/24/2011

2011-02-01
Length: 14s

Have been working on a podcasting presentation, as well as a little freelance writing (I know, right?), so a slight delay on headlines. They are still pretty relevant to hear however. Especially since a few were hardly talked about at all in the media.

Show Length: 14 minutes.

*Oh that President Bush. They are still finding illegal skeletons in his illegal closet. Again, a call for accountability? Yeah, right.

*Mexico begins iris scans for identification.

*Those corporations, they sure like Republicans.

*Vermont wants to revoke the right of personhood to corporations. I can't believe you need to revoke something that is so obvious.

*The US vs. The UN. Or should I say, conservative US vs. the UN.

*Russia wants revenge for bombing.

*People are still able to buy guns at a gun show, even when the seller knows that the buyer might not pass a background check.

*If Rush Limbaugh can receive the "Defender of the Constitution" award, I guess Rumsfeld can too.

*Two examples of how NOT to celebrate MLK Day.

TS95: Words STILL Have Consequences

2011-01-21
Length: 30s

It's been two weeks now since the shooting in Tucson.  I give my take on the reactions from the conservative and liberal worlds. Then I tell you what *I* think. ;-)

*Jon Stewart has a somber moment during the Daily Show.

*Can't we just talk about Huck Finn?

*Media FAIL.

*The blame game begins.

*This is not the first time I've covered this topic.

*Tennessee Church shooting in 2008

*TS 59: Ignore the Pull of your Prejudice.

*Totally unrelated, but that show was 59 and this one is 95. Odd.

*One of my favorite writers, Tim Wise, makes a great point about the environment you live in.

*The Espresso Pundit also makes a point, but not quite as eloquently.

*Rhetoric is just making stuff up.

*Some conservatives actually say liberals are happy about the shooting.

*Right Wing News audio

*Guess it's ok when HE does it.

*The left really handled it wrong.

*It's not polite to point!

*Sheriff Dupnik of Pima County should be listened to.

*There is a point, I swear!

*Facts vs. Emotions

*Optimism with a snarky side of Skepticism

*Be excellent to each other.

TS94: Have Yourself A Tolerant Little Christmas

2010-12-15
Length: 16s

Was going to take a break until the new year, but then came across a little letter to the editor of the Arizona Republic that made me want to say a few words. So consider this an "audio holiday card" for all of you.

Oh, and in the holiday spirit, I drop one F-bomb. Be warned, younger listeners! (really, I have them!)

I'm also slowly downsizing my holiday, and becoming less stressed because of it- it's a wonderful feeling! I talk about it a bit in the episode, but I also just came across a great blog post from Zen Habits that seemed to help explain how I've been feeling. It was very, well, zen. :-)

Have an excellent holiday, or, if you do not celebrate the holiday, have a great couple of weeks. I'll be back after the New Year with headlines and more seeking!

~Dani

PS- This sticker is on my van now. I love it!

PPS- The holiday tunes:

*No one knows how to cut spending. Everyone THINKS they know, however.

*Psst- there are gay people in the military! And no one cares!

*GOP disbands a committee on global warming. Meanwhile, this year is the third warmest on record.

*Immigration, illegal immigrants, hiring them... the Supremes are getting an earful this week.

Length: 15s

I will stick in the links later, but wanted to get this uploaded and available!

Show Length: 15min. 27sec.

*Smoke 'em if you got 'em- Medical Marijuana passes in AZ

*Campaign spending at all time high (get it? HIGH.)

*You know what's more dangerous than crack, heroin AND marijuana? Alcohol. Roll that and smoke it.

*The media loves GW Bush and his new book. Michael Moore thinks they are smoking something.

*The CIA doesn't think destroying evidence showing torture is important. I have no smoking reference to add.

*The EPA wants Halliburton to show what chemicals they are putting in their drilling process.

*San Francisco wanted Happy Meals to be healthier, and the Mayor vetoed it because it didn't make any sense.

*Back to smoking. Cigarettes that is. New warning labels will be very interesting to look at.

*Social Security benefits age could be raised to the age of death, if this keeps up. Which I think is the point.

*Male conservative pundits. They rake in the most cash, AND are the most influential. All the ladies in the house say whaaa?

*Don't Ask Don't Tell repeal is not going to hurt any war efforts. War is still the thing that hurts the most people, no need to worry.

*Amnesty International wants GW Bush tried for that whole "Waterboarding is legal because my lawyer said so." thing. Yeah, because a President is going to want to start an accountability precedent? I don't think so.

*So, Gitmo is staying open. Honestly, if you're not going to end the war, how can you close it?

*the US was a safe haven to Nazi officials?

*Apparently the media thought the back and forth about whether climate change is real was more important than actually talking about climate science. Gee, this is surprising?

2010-11-08

On Hiatus until August!

2010-07-15

Well, after some serious thought and many summertime blockers, I've decided to hold off on regular shows again until after the kids head back to school. Focus is one of those things I'm trying to work on, and when I'm juggling too many things, everything tends to crash to the ground. That isn't fair to you listeners, and I want to make sure I'm giving 100% in the news/issues I bring to the table.

No, this is not podfading, this is preparing for a new year of Seeking. Complete with new theme, promos, and a cleaned-up webpage!

I'll still of course be lurking around as always on Twitter and Facebook. The Ning site will be shutting down, so I would love it if you'd head over the the Truth Seekers Facebook page and become a fan!

Kids are back in school August 9. New show will be up Friday, August 13th! My favorite day/number! (I'm not kidding)

Enjoy the rest of your summers, and you'll hear me again soon. :-)

TS90: It's A Privilege

2010-05-27
Length: 31s

Pack a lot of information into a 30 minute show- but I wanted to make sure I was as clear as possible about why I think this new immigration law is a bad idea. Really, it has nothing to do with the written text of the law.  You have to dig a little deeper than that, something a lot of people are not comfortable doing. Here we go...

-Arizona: It's Not for Everyone

-it's the Immigration show! First, a disclaimer.

-SB1070. The problem is one small section...

-Text Of The Bill

- Always make eye contact with the police! You could be deemed suspicious!

- It's a privilege to be white

-Racism review post

- Immigration issue is nothing more than a way to score campaign points.

-10 Myths About immigration

- More myths vs. reality

- Tune Time! Ann Wilson's cover of "Immigrant Song"

- If it talks like a bigot, it's probably Russell Pearce and his supporters

- Dani talks to cops

- Polls and asking the right questions

- Pew poll on immigration law

- Want to stop the illegal immigration problem? Change your perspective.

TS89: Three Chords And The Truth

2010-05-06
Length: 1s

Harlan Howard may have been speaking about only one type of music when he said “Country music is three chords and the truth.”, but I think it’s fair to say that you can pick truth from any type of music, and certainly through any musician or groups leanings. This is the topic of the episode, and my guest is Scott Josephson. Recorded on April 19th, a couple of days after Pat’s Run. This runs long, an hour 12 minutes, but it’s a good look into a couple of things we both love, music and politics.

-Pat’s Run! Yeah, it happened almost three weeks ago now! We recap.

-Music and politics. It’s always been there. It will always be there.

-Influences on people.

-Yeah I have one HORRIBLE grammar fail in this episode. Believe me I’m aware of it, and totally ashamed. So ashamed I kept it in the episode.

TS83: Brain Dump

Length: 1s

Heeeee's baaaack..... yes friends, ScottyJ has entered the spiderhole and visited for a week. He also ended up on three podcasts in a week- I think that's a record! He did find time to talk a little politics with me, too. :-)

We couldn't decide on a topic, so we asked Twitter and Facebook friends. The show is several of the responses.

LONG show- and hour and 23 minutes. I debated splitting it into two shows, then decided if you need a break, you can pause the show and finish at a later date! Make sure you hear challenge I propose to Scott at the end! (around an hour in if you'd like to skip ahead)

-Opening: one stoned Kermit
-Scott makes the podcast guest circuit:
  -Love Long and Prosper
  -A Geek and His Wife
-So what are we gonna talk about?
-Should public teachers share their faith affiliation?
-In hard economic times, are we more inclined to give, or keep what we have for our own?
-Yes, we're going to talk about Sarah Palin. Our apologies.
- Should the President bow to other world leaders?
-Hangin' your laundry... what's the problem?
-HOA's... communism or socialism?
-What would be our ideal political system?

TS81: It's Ok When They Do It

2009-10-05
Length: 57s

A month! No, I have not pod-faded into the ether... but the big thing keeping me from podcasting was a really bad cold killing my voice and my nose for almost 3 weeks!

So I'm back, and grabbed my partner in crime Dave Tobkin across the internets for a chat.  Yeah, it's all one big liberal whine in this one, so that's your warning. ;-)  There has been so much craziness about Obama and what he *could* do to the country, we both needed to vent and ask one big question: Why is it ok when THEY do it?

-Opening: What the hell is that???
-Dave joins me to help me get a show out faster
-Protests. You won't hear a sound cannon at a tea party. Why is that?
-Singing songs to a President is just part of the job.
-Facebook poll asking about killing Obama, or a "Taking Back America" conference. What is truly more dangerous?
-Racism, there is truth in what Carter said.

Holy cow- it's an episode! Don't let the title fool ya- this may say "specious", but you'll just have to listen to find out why!

As is becoming common when I have house guests, I stick a mic in front of them and ask them to perform. My guests this time are my beautiful sister-in-law Valina, and her witty and fun BF Alan. What are we talking about? Well.....

Opening: Black Agenda Radio Report on Obama and Healthcare

*Healthcare

*Prop 8 and Same-sex marriage

*Bush vs. Obama as a leader

*Stupid laws still in the books

*Why we voted for Obama. Oh wait- *I* didn’t!

*Oh look, it’s the whole “voting against the other guy” argument again.

*Dani has girl crushes.

*Has Obama done anything besides do a lot of talking?

*Mamie Eishenhower

*Let’s listen as Alan opens his cheese

*We need to wake up!

*It’s just stupid to not pay attention to politics

*How do you really feel Alan?

*And your TMI moment in this episode is….

*Why don’t you blog, Alan?

*It’s important to pass around the information- even if it’s recycled information

*evo AT 11

So, I'm on vacation for the next two weeks, off to enjoy a little humidity and cooler temps on the east side of the country! Maybe I'll get some more guests for the next episode!

But you are not forgotten, my dear listeners, and I have responses to all the wonderful feedback received from the last show (please, check the comments in last entry!). Also have more things to get off my chest....

TS73: Confusionism

2009-04-16
Length: 1s

My guest for the show is ScottyJ, and we take a serious turn this time and talk religion. It's such an important topic, and so very important to so many people there was no other way to discuss it other than seriously. Ran a little long on this one, a bit over an hour, but wanted to get it all in one episode. Hope you enjoy, and please understand that the intent here is simply to question, and not to offend.

Feedback is always appreciated too!

TS Special Edition: Dani Goes To A Tea Party

2009-04-15
Length: 27s

Happy Tax Day! I'm sure everyone knows about all the wonderful Tea Parties taking place across the US (which regardless of what anyone says about the mainstream media, still received way more attention than ANY Iraq War protest).

There happened to be a gathering here in Gilbert, so I went to see what all the hub-bub was about. Yesterday I wrote about the Tea Parties and my curiosity about where all these protesters were the past 8 years. So today I decided to be a bystander and gather some audio.

Photos too!

TS Special Edition: Same Sex Marriage

2009-04-08
Length: 11s

Not a long show- but something I had to share. This is an interview from today's Democracy Now with a 12-year old girl who testified in Vermont supporting her mother's right to marry her partner.

Vermont overturned the governor's veto, therefore same sex marriage will become legal in yet another state.

This topic is very important to me personally, and this interview is exactly what we need more of- hearing from the voices of those who are in loving families of same-sex parents.

This will always be an equal-rights issue, no matter how those against same sex marriage try and muddy the waters with their skewed ideas of what is moral.

Spread the word, let these voices be heard!

Happy Election Day! Wanted to make sure I got the audio from my live podcast at Podcamp AZ in so it was still semi-relevant.

This was a great talk with Dan from Love Long and Prosper, and everyone's favorite guest ScottyJ. We cover the presidential candidates, and several of Arizona's propositions that are going to be decided on. Today, even!

Keep watching the feed because I will be recording from the polling line, and getting an 11-yr-old perspective on the voting process. No, not Scotty- my daughter is coming to the polls with us!

Then tonight- starting at 7pm eastern, head to the live chat on the forum, and spend the evening with us as we watch all the results trickle in!

It's more fun than any sporting event I've ever seen!!!

I will probably talk more about local issues, like our ballot propositions, but I'd love it if you all could tune in and check it out!

It's a video cast too- though I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing. ;-)

Show Nominated For Another Award

2008-10-20

I'm really glad someone emails me about these things- otherwise I'd never know!

Yes, Seekers, the show has been nominated for another award. This one is the Podcast Award, which is also called the "People's Choice" award, since anyone can vote!

I must be doing something right, because I never in a brazillion years would have expected to be nominated for such a popular award.  Frankly I'm up against so many great shows, well, let's just say I'm practicing my "It's good just to be nominated" speech. ;-)

You can see all the nominated shows in all of the categories right here:
http://www.podcastawards.com/

Voting begins On Thursday (the 23rd). You can vote once-a-day, every day through November 6th.

Thanks to those who nominated me- it means a lot. It always does. :-)

TS60: Words Have Consequences Pt. 1

Back from San Diego- and realized I had no time to write a show this week.

Soooo.... I called up my partner in crime Dave and we chatted for a bit, because it's easier to talk to someone else with no script than alone. A bit ended up being an hour and a half! The hate machine kept churning over the past couple of weeks, so we started in on that, and began listening to voicemail from Nobilis. Yeah, it's just not happening this week

2008-09-25

I tried to get a show together. Really, I did. The day job takes precedent however (the day job being mom), and on top of drowning in Girl Scout adventures, I'm also drowning in teeny, tiny, extremely annoying little lice bugs. I mean- ew. The bug problem is under control, but that doesn't stop all the upkeep that needs to happen until it's completely wiped out. So it's been another week of catching up with- well, I don't even know what I'm trying to catch up with. All I know is by the end of the day, the last thing I find myself wanting to do, is get a show together.

So, not this week. I am happy to say that there is the beginning of a show in the works. I've been thinking a lot about recent discussions in the forum about race and white privilege, and that's what the topic will be.

I would like to get it out before next Thursday.

I'd like a lot of things.

However, the realistic side of me knows better. I do promise that you will be the first to know when the new show is up!

Thanks as always for listening, and you'll hear me again soon!

New Episode August 6th!

2008-08-01

Hey friends! Just a quick update to let you all know that I am home from all my world travels! It's been a great summer, but I am ready to get back to seeking that truth, and bring you my version of it.

I've been thinking a lot about how to improve on the show, and I think one way to help keep the news I bring listeners current is to attempt a weekly show. Yes, weekly! Now, we know me and my skills of procrastination, which is why I say attempt. We'll see what happens...

At any rate, episode #52, and a whole new "season" of Truth Seekers begins August 6th!

See you soon!

~Dani

PS- Podcasters! I'm looking for promos! If you would like to have your promo played on the show, I'd be honored to do so.

TS Special Edition: Getting Snarky!

2008-06-21
Length: 37s

Hey friends! I'm writing to you from Kansas, well into my big-ass road trip.  We're having a pretty good time, and if you've been following around on the mamacutler blog, then there is no need to repeat the happenings!

Anyway, while I've been away, a new podcast friend of mine, The Snarky Avenger, posted an interview he did with me a few weeks ago, and I'd like to share it with all of you. We touch a little bit on this podcast, but the bulk of it is the other side of Dani, the voice acting and audio addict side!

You can visit The Snarky Avenger and check out his show Snark Invested Waters over at http://thesnarkyavenger.com/.

Enjoy!  Hope everyone's summer is off to a good start, and I'll catch you all later!

TS44: 44nication

2008-02-13
Length: 1s

The show no one's been waiting for!  Since the goal of Valentine's Day is sex, it's the perfect time to talk about it. Scotty J returns to chat it up, and we attempt to figure out why the hell the US is so repressed and afraid of something that is as commonplace as food.

Warning: Listening to this episode could cause blindness and hairy palms. I also cannot express just how NOT worksafe this show is. If you are offended by just about anything regarding sex, I'd skip this one.  As a matter of fact, if you just plain get offended easily, I'd skip it.

Oh yeah, you're all gonna listen. ;-)

-Intro: Ajay from All Axis Radio

TS42.5: Not The Speech You Expect

2008-01-15
Length: 29s

In honor of Martin Luther King's birthday 79 years ago today, a speech originally given in 1967.  Also one I personally think encompasses what he was about even more than his "I Have A Dream" speech.

"I Have A Dream", made popular by the media, I feel because it was the easiest for white America. This speech is much more telling of the times and the viewpoints of Dr. King. A perspective that can still ring hauntingly true today in many instances. Yes, we've come far, but we as a country still have far to go when it comes to race relations.

Enjoy, and peace.

A Podcast Every Day For 30 Days?

2007-10-31

Well... this will be challenging but fun.  Why you all will see daily postings in the feed starting in about 10 minutes:

"In the spirit of NaNoWriMo, NaVloPoMo, NaBloPoMo we've decided to start NaPodPoMo - National Podcast Post Month.

Beginning November 1st the quest is to podcast everyday (including weekends) for 30 Days. Feel free to be as creative as you want. Any audio format is acceptable. From Jott to Utterz to BlogTalkRadio etc... Use a phone, an iRiver (or comparable) or a good old fashioned microphone. It can last from 1 minute to 1 hour or more. It's entirely up to you. Use whatever tools you have at your disposal. The whole point is to just get your podcast out each and every day for 30 days starting on November 1st."

I figured since I record daily for KWSS anyway, all I really need to do is fill the weekends, and I'm set! So, first post for the month will be Episode #39!

Big News! Joining Far Point Media!

2007-10-25

I've been mulling this over since June, then at the Podcast and New Media expo I discovered that others were plotting my assimilation into the Far Point family!  So... papers are signed, and the process is all ready beginning.

What is that process? I'm not entirely sure, but I know it involves moving servers and files and such.  What does it mean for you, dear listeners?  I have no idea.

Yet.

But I will keep you ever-informed, as I always do. :-)

Check out all the awesome shows on Far Point Media, I bet you will recognize one or two I'm sure!!

Recording Difficulties

2007-10-19

Well, I tried to find time and a place to record this week while my company is in town.  It's not happening. I haven't even had a chance to recoup after our trip to Kansas, as I became sick and company arrived two days after we returned home.

Tuesday the house is empty again. I hope to get show #38 to you as soon as I can after that. I'm really sorry, fellow seekers. :-(

I have so many voicemails from nearly a month ago.. it's to the point I might have to skip some of them in order to get back on track.  I'll take a look at everything once I can breathe again.  It would kill me to do it, but with seeking we must move forward, or we don't have a chance at any truth.

As always thanks for listening, and you will definitely hear me again soon! Hey- here are a couple of places that you can hear me now, if you miss me that much!

*Women in Podcasting Panel from the New Media Expo
*Escape Pod
*Pseudopod
*Dream Realm's Siren Song (ok I'm only the intro- but it's a good story!)

Thank you again, all you fellow podcasters.  It's a wonderful feeling to be acknowledged for your hard work and efforts.  It shows it isn't just merely a popularity contest based on how many fans a show has and how many times you remember to vote. Quality vs. quantity.  I'm truly grateful.

Truth Seekers a Finalist for Podcast Peer Award

2007-07-15

I found out some really cool news- a couple of months ago my dear friends Twilight and Thebes nominated Truth Seekers for a Podcast Peer Award.  It was a sweet thing to do, but to be honest?  I didn't really give it much thought after that.  Maybe I was still heartbroken over the silliness of the Radio Talent Contest...

I found out today that I have made it to the finals, along with two other great shows in the politics category!  Yay TS!

So, if you are a podcaster, head over to the PPA site now and give me a vote. (There is a short registration process). While you are there, give a vote for all the other great casts that made it to the finals as well. What I'm finding is what makes this award special is that fellow podcasters are the ones giving our shows the nod- it's a nice feeling to know that you are well-thought of among your peers.

Thanks everyone!
~Dani

TS31.1: Independence Day Present

2007-07-03
Length: 6s

On this day, when we are all out at our BBQ's and drinking our beers and watching those fireworks while waving the flag, it is my wish everyone takes pause to really consider some things about our country today.

A gift to all the Seekers- a poem I always think of during this holiday.  Mostly out of amazement that his words can still ring so true today.

Enjoy, and I hope I didn't butcher it too much!

In truth,
Dani

Truth Seekers Reviewed!

2007-05-03

Hey everyone!  Just jumping in for a quick note here while I've got a house full of family.  I wanted to tell everyone that Truth Seekers has been reviewed by Bruce C (no, not the Bruce C over on the message board) of Podcaster Who's Who!  WooHOO!

He had some very nice things to say about my little show, and it was so great to hear a review from someone that I don't really know.  It just made it seem like the show really has some value. (Not that I don't value my friend's opinions, but you know what I mean.) ;-)

You can listen to the review at the link below- it's only a few minutes long.

TS Music Special: Bad Dog No Biscuit

2007-02-19
Length: 44s

Hey seekers!  I had the most AWESOME of interviews at the station tonight (well at this point it is last night), and I want to introduce the band to you!  It was really great- Steve is quite a guy and I loved his thoughts about getting back to a more cultural music scene.

All songs are by Bad Dog No Biscuit, an R&B/Funk/ Blues/ Latin band.  You can find out more about them at their website:

http://www.baddognobiscuit.net/

And hear tunes on their myspace page:

http://www.myspace.com/badogrecords

The recording is a bit choppy- I let it run here at home when I was at the station.  The whole thing is about 45 minutes- and it completely rocks.

So, enjoy the brake from politics!

TS Special: The Update Before Christmas

2006-12-22
Length: 4s

A little holiday present for everyone- three weeks ago a thread began on the Podcast Pickle forums.  Two amazing podcasters wanted to show some love to a great podcast directory and community. It turns out that many other podcasters wanted to show some love as well. This was the result.  Enjoy!

The Update Before Christmas by Wesley Clifford and Will Ross
Adapted from the Poem "The Night Before Christmas" By Clement Clark Moore

Twas the night before Christmas, and all 'cross the net, (Wintersheart)
No RSS updates, and so no shows to get. (Mr. Bob)
The iPods were docked to the computers with care, (Barely Podcasting)
In hopes that P Dilly soon would be there. (TVindy)

All the Casters were nestled all snug in their beds, (Brother Osric)
While visions of Microphones danced in their heads. (mrsb)
And mamma in her ipod, 80 gigs vast (Rubberhead)
We had just settled in to finish our casts. (Laurence Simon)

When on my computer the hard drive did clatter, (Blissfully Unfulfilled)
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter. (Juliann)
Fingers on my keyboard they flew like a flash, (Laieanna)
It'd just be my luck if Windows did crash. (Eclectic Mix)

But the moon through the window on my computer below, (Twilight)
showed an empty podcatcher, with not a one show. (comedy4cast)
But then, what to my wondering eyes should appear, (DiggersStory)
But a great giant pickle, and eight tiny reindeer! (Dani)

With a little old driver, so lively and quick, (Philosophy Guy)
I knew in a moment it must be St Pick! (Zedcaster)
More rapid than broadband his casters they came, (Geek Acres)
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name! (Tony -FanboySmackdown)

Now Rob Walsh! Now Ely! Now Hutchins and Sigler! (Mostly News)
On Clinton, On Ellis! On Leo and Digger! (Brother Osric)
And down through the modem, through the firewall! (Lynnette from SCRAPcast)
Now download 'em! Download 'em! Download 'em all!" (Jen and Corey)

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, (KevinLeeC)
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky. (Planet Retcon)
So up to the rooftop the casters they flew, (SysTris)
With the jar full of Casts, and P Dilly too. (KC Weather)

I heard on the rooftop, the shows I loved most! (Mostly News)
The talking and laughing of each beloved host! (Dani)
As I drew in my head, and was turning around, (Thats good to know)
Down the chimney P Dilly came with a bound. (Brother Osric)

He was dressed all in green, from his head to his foot, (Shelly)
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot. (Zedcaster)
A bundle of Feeds he had flung on his back, (Slusy)
And he looked like a pickle, like a podcasting snack. (PNR Mikey)

His eyes-how they twinkled! Green pimples how merry! (The Right Rev Chumley)
His cheeks were like roses, his nose a green cherry! (Dry Shave, Karen)
He held a wide smile, from his nose to his chin. (RL Burt)
And the beard that he wore, was green as a gherkin. (the Keeme)

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth, (Allie)
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath. (John)
He had a green face and a little round belly, (The Diva)
That shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly. (Laieanna)

He was chubby and plump, with a jar full of pickles, (Mrs b )
And I laughed when I saw him, just like i'd been tickled! (Blissfully Unfulfilled)
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head, (The Half (Me-Saj) )
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread. (The Half (Jason) )

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, (Eclectic Mix)
And filled all the ipods, then turned with a jerk. (Comedy4Cast)
And laying his finger aside of his nose, (KevinLeeC)
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose! (Worlds of Wayne)

He sprang to his sleigh, and the podcasters whistled, (Brother Osric)
And away they all flew like guided cruise missile. (Barely Podcasting)
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight, (Random)
"Happy Podding to all, and to all a good-night!"

TS19: The No-Fly Holiday Show

2006-12-14
Length: 1s

Because it’s so close to Christmas, I shook up the format for this episode a bit.  Since I began the podcast in March, this is my first holiday of podcasting- I hope everyone enjoys it!

I apologize for the horrendous audio quality.  I have audio from my travels to Boston the first week of December- and how they were halted halfway through for a day in Chicago. Then the interview with Bruce is not the best quality, though with all of it I tried to clean it up the best I can.  (Note to Santa: iRiver? Please?  I think I’ve been good, though don’t talk to _______ and ______, and most certainly not _______, - ok?)

Here’s the rundown:

-Intro: Mostly News

-Promo: Public Nuisance Radio

-Live from Chicago, and the truth about being incoherent at 5 in the morning.

- Song: Re-gifting for the holidays

-Chicago part two: Time flies when you’re listening to a podcast

-Deep thought about computer over-abundance

-Please don’t mace him!

-watch lists and no fly lists and the government, oh my!

-will she ever leave the Windy City?

- Song: Sick of Christmas (sung by Santa)

-Podcast Pickle, and how awesome the number 57 is.

-last installment of my interview with Bruce Carter.  Still chock full of great discussion.  We cover Race, class, and my love/hate relationship with Lou Dobbs, the sham war on terror, and sham Democrats who still acknowledge a War on Terror, and tons more!

(for those who might want to jump ahead (but really, who would want to?), the interview portion is 35 minutes)

-Don’t forget that voicemail line!  206-350-0669

-Final Song: Sleigh Ride by the Hipcola

All songs can be found on the podsafe music network

Merry Christmas!!  See you in 2007!

TS18: Arizona- It's The New Canada!

Length: 41s

Yes folks, it's snowbird season down here... it's a sea of RV's, Cadillacs, and people who can't see over their steering wheel while driving 25 mph in a 40, and weaving.

But enough about me.  Actually a good portion of them are Canadian.  No wonder there is a gravy shortage!

Then I switch from stereotyping the elderly to ranting about racial issues, and a particular interview on CNN that sort of ticked me off.  Here's the lowdown:

*Opening from Daryl at the Poddog Show
*A teaser of a new podiobook coming your way from Tee Morris
*Glenn Beck Interview
*Message Board thread
*Campaign Ad Article
*Deep Holiday Thoughts
*Bruce talks about taking on the Teamsters Union, as well as Iraq and what drove him to speak out politically again.

TS17: Dani’s Midterm Election Voicemail Spectacular!

2006-11-09
Length: 37s

Episode #17:

Here it is Seekers- I take you on my voting-journey where I spew hate towards the two men who kept me up WAY too long the night before, as well as hate for the Kia Sedona, and the weather in November. So many people called in to tell me their voting experiences, and I play them all throughout the show.  It was all too interesting not to play!  Here’s the rundown:

- Tee Morris co-author of Podcasting for Dummies, and host of The Survival Guide to Writing Fantasy says VOTE!

-Charles from Mostly News talks voting in Texas

-I rant while putting gas in my van

-- one of the men I curse

--and here’s the other one

-Charles gets cut off

-Advice on finding your polling place… dammit

-Jake and Chris from Just Not Right talk about being the youngest voters in Utah

-So I vote- how very, uh…*yawn*- but the Bible quotes were nice!

-Pickle-bumping

-My last observation on the whole thing, and can someone get me a Jumbo Jack with Cheese?

-Sherri (whom I used to work with back in my legal assistant days) from Chandler AZ

-Jamie and Joe from Afterhell join me for a quick chat from up in OR

-Karen from Kalifornia, from, well... California!

-Melodee (always makes me smile when family calls in!) from NYC

-Omar (again, love that family!) from San Diego

-I talk about Tee Morris some more, and the guilt trip I took him on

-Let’s throw in a Deep Thought

-So are we a liberal nation or not?

-Aaron from The Big Show- he’s simply fabulous!

-what I think of the President’s statement about the election

-Kick it!  Mp3’s killed the radio star.  Cruisebox takes us out this time. Do I play the clean or explicit version?

(Head over to http://www.truthseekerscast.com for links to all the goodies listed- you lazy podcatcher people!)

A Tillman Speaks, and the Libertarians are shunned

2006-10-25
Length: 2s

Pat Tillman's brother Kevin's amazing letter to the public- and is worth putting the entire text of here.  Also, third party candidates are not allowed to participate in congressional debates.  Bad form Hillary, really bad form.

After Pat's Birthday

Posted on Oct 19, 2006
Pat and Kevin Tillman
Courtesy the Tillman Family

By Kevin Tillman

It is Pat's birthday on November 6, and elections are the day after. It gets me thinking about a conversation I had with Pat before we joined the military. He spoke about the risks with signing the papers. How once we committed, we were at the mercy of the American leadership and the American people. How we could be thrown in a direction not of our volition. How fighting as a soldier would leave us without a voice until we get out.

Much has happened since we handed over our voice:

Somehow we were sent to invade a nation because it was a direct threat to the American people, or to the world, or harbored terrorists, or was involved in the September 11 attacks, or received weapons-grade uranium from Niger, or had mobile weapons labs, or WMD, or had a need to be liberated, or we needed to establish a democracy, or stop an insurgency, or stop a civil war we created that can't be called a civil war even though it is. Something like that.

Somehow America has become a country that projects everything that it is not and condemns everything that it is.

Somehow our elected leaders were subverting international law and humanity by setting up secret prisons around the world, secretly kidnapping people, secretly holding them indefinitely, secretly not charging them with anything, secretly torturing them. Somehow that overt policy of torture became the fault of a few bad apples in the military.

Somehow back at home, support for the soldiers meant having a five-year-old kindergartener scribble a picture with crayons and send it overseas, or slapping stickers on cars, or lobbying Congress for an extra pad in a helmet. It's interesting that a soldier on his third or fourth tour should care about a drawing from a five-year-old; or a faded sticker on a car as his friends die around him; or an extra pad in a helmet, as if it will protect him when an IED throws his vehicle 50 feet into the air as his body comes apart and his skin melts to the seat.

Somehow the more soldiers that die, the more legitimate the illegal invasion becomes.

Somehow American leadership, whose only credit is lying to its people and illegally invading a nation, has been allowed to steal the courage, virtue and honor of its soldiers on the ground.

Somehow those afraid to fight an illegal invasion decades ago are allowed to send soldiers to die for an illegal invasion they started.

Somehow faking character, virtue and strength is tolerated.

Somehow profiting from tragedy and horror is tolerated.

Somehow the death of tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of people is tolerated.

Somehow subversion of the Bill of Rights and The Constitution is tolerated.

Somehow suspension of Habeas Corpus is supposed to keep this country safe.

Somehow torture is tolerated.

Somehow lying is tolerated.

Somehow reason is being discarded for faith, dogma, and nonsense.

Somehow American leadership managed to create a more dangerous world.

Somehow a narrative is more important than reality.

Somehow America has become a country that projects everything that it is not and condemns everything that it is.

Somehow the most reasonable, trusted and respected country in the world has become one of the most irrational, belligerent, feared, and distrusted countries in the world.

Somehow being politically informed, diligent, and skeptical has been replaced by apathy through active ignorance.

Somehow the same incompetent, narcissistic, virtueless, vacuous, malicious criminals are still in charge of this country.

Somehow this is tolerated.

Somehow nobody is accountable for this.

In a democracy, the policy of the leaders is the policy of the people. So don't be shocked when our grandkids bury much of this generation as traitors to the nation, to the world and to humanity. Most likely, they will come to know that somehow was nurtured by fear, insecurity and indifference, leaving the country vulnerable to unchecked, unchallenged parasites.

Luckily this country is still a democracy. People still have a voice. People still can take action. It can start after Pat's birthday.

Brother and Friend of Pat Tillman,

Kevin Tillman

Are We Really Protecting Marriage?

2006-09-25
Length: 2s

I am working on the next show- but I've been a busy little dissenter.  Say hello to the voice of the evening (hey it's better than lady!) on kqcx FM here in a town just a little south of the spiderhole, Queen Creek.  Mostly bringing an awesome and very eclectic mix of alternative music, I do get the occasional chance to get some politics off my chest.  I thought I would add them as supplements in the podcast feed.

It will probably be local Arizona news for the most part, but true to the term "show notes", I will give you the head's up so you can decide whether to satisfy that curiousity or not.

Tonight, I spoke a little bit about the Protect Marriage Arizona Act, which basically make marriage between a man and a woman.  The ramifications, however, go much further than a gay marriage ban.

2006-06-20

Oh what a show!  First I hear an amazing episode of a podcast at the gym that nearly causes me to fall off my stairmaster. What listening DID do is get me to race home, and change my entire intro and promo to this podcast. (which I will definitely use for the next episode- but this podcast was great and it was one of those instant inspiration things!)

Then, the first of my two-part interview with my first conservative guest.  It was such a great interview, I had to split it because we chatted so long!  This is also my first time stepping out of my normal comfy zone of network friends.... and ya know I didn't do half bad. ;-)
