This shows an different perspective about The Seed of The Woman, Versus the Seed of the Serpent. Once you have gone through these videos check out the two hour show that was done just this past Saturday April 30th, 2011. That two hour MP3 that was presented by FallenAngels.TV will answer a lot of questions that you might have. Especially concerning the Revelation 9:1-6 verses below. And the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star fallen from heaven to earth, and he was given the key to the shaft of the bottomless pit. He opened the shaft of the bottomless pit, and from the shaft rose smoke like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened with the smoke from the shaft. Then from the smoke came locusts on the earth, and they were given power like the power of scorpions of the earth. They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any green plant or any tree, but only those people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. They were allowed to torment them for five months, but not to kill them, and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings someone. And in those days people will seek death and will not find it. They will long to die, but death will flee from them. (Rev 9:1-6)

Aleister Crowley and links to UFOs

2011-04-21 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

Hi Everyone! Here is a study I just finished writing with help from other sites.

How Aleister Crowley was involved with UFOs. An in depth look at the occult side of things.

This is a Podcast of a study I put together called What is your Preacher, Pastor, Minister going to tell you when Aliens are disclosed . I have been meaning to podcast the link between UFOs and Aleister Crowley for some time. This study takes a long hard look at the occult side of the house and what happened in years prior to 1947 to bring this all about. It is rather involved and I ask you to prayerfully consider it.

2011-04-20 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

This is a short podcast on what I believe the Strong Delusion is about. A possible UFO invasion to confuse the weak believers into believing that Aliens were really the race that seeded earth. Don't fall for it. Stand strong in the Lord. Do not falter or give in.

Sorry I have been away for so long. I have been contemplating things and have a firmer understanding now. Please approach this content prayerfully and with an open mind. Blessings to you and yours.

The Spiritual Dangers of Yoga and Meditation - Why Christian Yoga is bad

2010-08-24 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

Let's look at the spiritual dangers of Christian Yoga and meditation. Most every Yoga master and Hindu expert on religion says there is no way to separate the movements of Yoga and the worship of the Hindu Gods. But there is still book after book on Christian Yoga available to purchase.

When a yogi chants he or she is yoking together with millions of other yogis who are all trying to link to the Hindu God. Christians should know since there is no other God the only real option for yogis yoking is a Demon. (2 Cor 6:14-18): 14 Do not be mismatched with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship is there between light and darkness? 15 What agreement does Christ have with Beliar? Or what does a believer share with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement has the temple of God with idols?

For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, "I will live in them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Therefore come out from them, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch nothing unclean; then I will welcome you, 18 and I will be your father, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty." Beliar is a Demon.

It is likely in my study and opinion that The reference to temples and idols suggests that Paul is still addressing the Corinthians' tendency to try to blend the worship of God with the activities that went on the pagan temples. In other words, the people wanted to be Christian while still partaking of all the activities that marked the worship of the Greek gods. Could this be Yoga as well? I believe so, this passage is in the context of living a God like life. Not about friends or marrying outside of the Church.

Thought on Seduction

2010-08-24 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

In Proverbs chapter 9; starting in verse 10 the Holy Spirit is trying to tell us something very important. I have heard some say they take these passages in an allegorical way that pits wisdom against the folly of foolish men. But is this really an allegorical story? Proverbs chapter 8 is a book of wisdom and the value of it. What is this building up to? Now; let’s look at Proverbs chapter 10 the very first verse says:

1 The proverbs of Solomon:
A wise son brings joy to his father,
but a foolish son grief to his mother.

This sounds like good, practical, real advice, which many of the Proverbs are. I take this passage of scripture in Proverbs 9:10-18 to be literal and warning of serious spiritual problems. And it is correct (in my opinion) that the wise man would steer clear of this. If you have been through a spouse cheating on you, you will understand exactly my next points. There is more than one Bible verse that hints at adultery being a pretty serious sin since it is a sin against the body as well. How could it be a sin? It is a sin because you are tapping into the realm of evil spirits and actually joining yourself with evil spirits under certain conditions.

Let’s look at verse 18. We are using the translation at tldm. And he did not know that giants are there, and that her guests are in the depths of hell. The King James Version translates this as ‘But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell:”

Sounds a little weird doesn’t it? The dead are there, or the giants are there? The giants that I believe the Holy Spirit is trying to tell us about are the Nephilim from Genesis chapter 6: starting around verse 4: 3And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

Genesis 6:4 4There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

5And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Here are a couple of verses that we brush over pretty easy. Who were these mighty men? They were giants; the offspring of fallen angels and earth women. Notice that in the very next verse that God decides to destroy the Earth. That was not because of noble man. It’s because God has a DNA problem on his hands as these giants were cannibalistic and they were quickly destroying all of God’s creation.

Proverbs 9:13. A foolish woman and clamorous, and full of allurements, and knowing nothing at all,

Proverbs 9:14. Sat at the door of her house, upon a seat, in a high place of the city,

Proverbs 9:15. To call them that pass by the way, and go on their journey:

Proverbs 9:16. He that is a little one, let him turn to me. And to the fool she said:

Proverbs 9:17. Stolen waters are sweeter, and hidden bread is more pleasant.

Proverbs 9:18. And he did not know that giants are there, and that her guests are in the depths of hell.

Thoughts on Punishment of the wicked

2010-07-25 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

Thanks for listening. I have been podcasting since 2007 and have had in excess of ¼ million podcast downloads. While I was in the process of learning and studying for my sometimes daily podcasts I would keep learning new things, which is the goal of a study I would assume.

It wouldn’t take long to learn a couple of the biggest conspiracies in the Christian religion today. A few of those are:

The myth of Eternal Punishment in Hell is one of the biggest conspiracies and preys on our fears to get us to make a decision to join the Church. How many of you out there can honestly raise their hand to say that the fear of eternal punishment in Hell didn’t have any factor in you becoming a Christian?

And the Greek word Ekklesia which I will be talking about next week. We get the word Church from the Greek word Ekklesia. I will give you a little spoiler for next week. The Greek word Ekklesia really means assembly, or congregation. So basically Jesus sets us free with the Gospel; then we throw shackles around believers to make religion fit our needs. Funny isn’t it? OK, not really.

Why was Heaven so Happy? Take two

2009-12-25 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

Why was Heaven so Happy? Take two - An angel told Mary that she had conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:26-38), and an angel told Joseph not to be afraid to marry her (Matthew 1:18-25). Angels rejoiced and praised God when Jesus was born. Angels came and ministered to Jesus when his temptations in the wilderness concluded (Matthew 4:11). When Jesus prayed with such intensity in the Garden of Gethsemane that he sweated as though he were bleeding, an angel came and strengthened him (Luke 22:43). An angel rolled the stone away from Jesus' tomb when he was resurrected, and told the women who made their early morning visit to the tomb, that Jesus was not there, that he had arisen (Matthew 28:1-7). Immediately after Jesus ascended back into heaven, heavenly messengers promised Jesus' disciples that Jesus would return in the same manner that he left (Acts 1:10, 11).

And God Said It Never Happened Part 2

2009-12-14 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

And God Said It Never Happened Part 2 - Never, never, never think that you are right before God because you are good or that you are obedient. If you want to know the reality of your guilt, ask Satan. If you want to know the proper consequences for the evil in your life, ask Satan. You are not right before God because you have not sinned. You are right before God because God destroys your sin. He forgives you. He justifies you. If God has washed your sins away with baptism, stop worrying about guilt. Turn loose of it. Focus on serving God.

And God Said It Never Happened Part 1

2009-12-13 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

And God Said It Never Happened Part 1 - Any person who trusts in himself and believes that he makes himself right will not be justified. Any person who sees and acknowledges his own wickedness and turns to God, trusting God and not himself, will be justified. How? God justifies a person by redeeming and forgiving. He frees the person from Satan and destroys the sin. Only because God redeems and forgives can the person be right. Our efforts to make ourselves right always fail. Faith in what God does for us through the death and resurrection of Jesus always succeeds. Bible Study at God's Message.

Unity God Can Handle Our Differences

2009-12-02 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

Unity God Can Handle Our Differences - Our Christian conscience differences do not trouble God. God in Jesus Christ reveals such differences will not prevent Him from saving us. Those differences trouble us. God can handle our differences and make all of us stand. We are the ones who cannot handle differences.

The matter that deeply concerns God among Christians is judging each other. Our conscience differences do not trouble God if we do not use conscience differences to judge each other. Bible Study at God's Message.

Unity A Divine Or Human Accomplishment

2009-09-21 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

Unity A Divine Or Human Accomplishment - Even though Jewish and gentile believers did not comprehend all that God did in Jesus Christ, God still did it. We conclude by reading two statements from Paul.

To the Roman Christians, Paul wrote:
For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. (Romans 12:4-8)

To the Corinthian Christians, Paul wrote:
For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many. The Naked Church - Chapter 21 - Naked No Longer

2009-09-19 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

The Naked Church - Chapter 21 - Naked No Longer

--snip--
Over the course of these pages we’ve examined the failure of contemporary Christianity to bring believers into a vital relationship with the Living God. Our wealth and influence only pretend to mask emptiness that leaves many brutalized by our systems, and still others disillusioned by God. I have no doubt that we are as naked as the Laodicean church in Revelation. I am not alone in saying that, for many voices in recent decades have pointed out the deficiencies of our systems and the pain they inflict on many.

Though the terms I’ve used have been clearly distinguishable hues of black and white, I’ve done so only to make the grays more visible. The shades of compromise are the most deceptive.

My purpose in exposing the church’s nakedness is not to breed cynics who jeer from the sidelines, but to show us how we have been willingly duped because of our own vested interest. We can all find ways to fit our own desires into religious forms, giving us the illusion of safety, but not its reality. For us to admit such nakedness risks all that we enjoy about it, and also the accusations of friends and family that we are critical or bitter. Certainly it would be easier to stay silent and make the best of the status quo.

The Naked Church - Chapter 20 - A Real Jesus in an Unreal World

2009-09-14 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

The Naked Church - Chapter 20 - A Real Jesus in an Unreal World

--snip--
Not only can God make it here, but it’s the only place he does make it. He is not afraid to meet people in the real world, where every battle is not won, where people hurt and die, where all don’t repent and are saved. He’s not afraid of hospital rooms and screams of anger by people who misunderstand his love. He knows better than we that everything in this age will not end in temporal joy, and that rarely are the righteous rewarded in the world.

He is not a God who can be real only in stained-glass hues on velvet pews. If that’s the only place we’re finding him, then we’re not finding the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. What we’re finding may be an aesthetic feeling or a surge of compassion, but not the God of the universe filling our lives with the reality of his presence.

God only stays in a church building if that’s where we leave him, and that’s where many people prefer to have him. He’s there when we need him, but he won’t meddle in my business,
my family, or my recreational time. But this is written for those to whom God’s presence is good news—those who want to know him more fully, not less so.

The larger question, however, is whether Jesus is relevant to anything in our lives. Os Guiness reiterates that indictment: “The damning comment has been made of Christianity that it is privately engaging but socially irrelevant.”1 Until the church can answer the difficult questions that emerge from the application of our theology into real human experience, the world will only sit back and laugh. To them our gospel is irrelevant, a placebo designed to set the ignorant at ease and not a real answer for desperate needs.

Could you come down here right away?” Even beneath the nurse’s professionalism flowed an unmistakable current of urgency. I phoned my co-pastor and left immediately. As I drove I began to pray. Only then did I realize how little I knew about the situation into which I was headed. Who was it? What kind of accident? The Spirit of God knew better than I, so I let him do the praying for me as I opened my heart to God’s presence. The Naked Church - Chapter 17 - Where Has All the Power Gone?

2009-08-29 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

The Naked Church - Chapter 17 - Where Has All the Power Gone?

--snip--
Whether or not people liked Jesus or agreed with him, the thing that most impressed them was his sense of authority. Even his enemies marveled at the power that flowed from his life. And that is an amazing statement about a man who had no wealth, political clout, or wide following. Jesus drew his authority from a far deeper well.

People saw it in the synagogues where he taught simple lessons: “They were amazed at his teaching, because he taught them as one who had authority” (Matthew 7:28,29). They saw it when he cast out evil spirits with just a word. The people wondered, “What is this? A new teaching—and with authority! He even gives orders to evil spirits and they obey him” (Mark 1:27).

They saw it when he rebuked the violent storm on the Sea of Galilee and immediately it grew calm. “What kind of man is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!” (Matthew 8:27).

Jesus had authority where it counted. It didn’t reside in his mannerisms, volume, or charisma, but in this simple fact: What he said and what he did made a difference.

Just knowing Jesus, however, wasn’t the only thing for which Paul hungered. He also wanted to be like him: “I consider[all things] rubbish that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from law, but that which is through faith in Christ.” Paul didn’t see righteousness as competing with his pleasure; it was his pleasure.

But Paul made it clear that the righteousness he sought was not one which comes by observing law. He knew that kind of righteousness all too well. Just a few verses before, he talked about his life as a Pharisee: “As for legalistic righteousness, [I was] faultless.” Before he came to know Jesus, Paul knew the bondage of trying to please God by a system of rules and regulations. He knew its frustration and rigidity, and that it never succeeds.--snip--

Since that day I’ve reevaluated a number of major Christian tenets. I know I risk sounding heretical here because in this culture we have married materialism to Christianity. We have even given its offspring a biblical name—stewardship—and under its protection we pursue material security, prosperity, and comfort, thinking these to be only an extension of our obedience to God. As I’ve looked closely I’ve found four concepts which are readily accepted in Christendom today, but which are actually nothing more than myths.\

1. The abundant life includes financial security.
2. Riches are the gift of God.
3. It takes money to minister.
4. God’s first priority for my life is material.

The Naked Church - Chapter - 11. O Dem Golden Shepherds

--snip--
Jesus inaugurated a brokerless kingdom, one in which his Father’s personal care for people and his authority over them would be shared with no earthly leader. His revolutionary words and actions engaged people in God’s life directly and nothing could have threatened the religious leadership of his day more. He invited fishermen, homemakers, tax-collectors, prostitutes and beggars into God’s life. Every person, from the least to the greatest, could know him and walk in his ways. That is the nature of his kingdom, and nothing destroys the reality of intimacy for God’s people more than those who claim to be leaders in his church and by whatever means insert their lives between the flock and the shepherd. As we shall see, leadership in the New Testament never takes that place. They do not represent Jesus in his absence, but only hold value as they equip other people to know the living God themselves. “There shall be one flock and one shepherd,” Jesus stated in John 10. What do we see when we look at the so-called church today—thousands upon thousands of flocks and thousands upon thousands of shepherds? Do you see the connection? Many shepherds leads to many flocks. Human leaders almost always divide the flock by their own expectations, programs, and traditions.Only when we recognize that he alone is the true shepherd will the flock be able to live out the unity he gives it. We have no king but Jesus, and in these days he is calling his flock back to himself, away from the regimentation and exploitations of human leadership, so that he can truly have first place in every heart who seeks him.

The Naked Church - Chapter - 10. Learning to Depend on God

"Contemporary Christianity has all but ignored this powerful work of the cross and sees it only as a sacrificial atonement to appease God’s wrath. But that misses the whole point. Jesus didn’t die to satisfy God’s anger toward sin; he became sin so that the wrath of God might destroy sin in him. He made the sacrifice we were incapable of making,and defeated sin for us that we might live in him free of its power and shame.

Having been accepted by God at our worst, we can abandon all attempts to earn God’s favor by our good works. We can simply enjoy our relationship with him and trust his love for us. As we grow in him, we will see him at work in every circumstance of our lives to draw us closer to him, free us from the bondage of self and fulfill his good purpose in our lives".

Unity The Meaning Of Oneness

2009-04-27 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

Unity The Meaning Of Oneness - Unity is not a simple subject to discuss. I am surely aware of that. I sincerely request that you be aware of it also. I also sincerely request that each of you be aware of my objective. I am NOT trying to get you to agree with my concept or with me as a person. (I surely acknowledge that I have much to learn about unity.) I AM seeking to get you to think. It is so easy to assume that we have the answer that we stop searching scripture, stop seeing what we already are sure we "know", and stop thinking about matters we are certain we have figured out. If we stop searching scripture, stop seeing, and stop thinking, we make ourselves ideal subjects for self-deception. Bible Study at God's Message.

Unity The Concept Part One

2009-02-14 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

Unity The Concept Part One - Too often we make assumptions about a concept. We assume our concept is God's concept. The result is that we never examine the concept to see if it is correct. We simply build on our assumption as if it is God's concept. Often we generate unquestionable conclusions in the full conviction that our foundation assumption is NOT an assumption, but rather is God's concept. Bible Study at God's Message.

Free To Be Just A Christian

2008-12-27 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

Free To Be Just A Christian - To be a Christian is to be “of Christ “or to be a follower of Jesus. The word Christian is all inclusive. It needs no other word added to it for explanation or definition. Men have created denominations (churches) in order to separate and regulate those who profess to believe alike. In reality, all faith is individual. No person believes exactly like another person. We all have a unifying point of faith and brotherhood: the Lord Jesus. He calls us to love and respect each other, but never to believe exactly alike. A person who has accepted Jesus as his or her personal Savior has done so just like all other Christians throughout history. Bible Study at God's Message.

Hell - Eternal Torment or Complete Annihilation?

2008-11-03 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

Hell - Eternal Torment or Complete Annihilation? - I grew up in the church. For many years, I believed in the traditional view of Heaven and Hell—that souls are taken from the body immediately following death and are placed in either Heaven or Hell where they will spend eternity in bliss or unending torture. This is what most of the Christian church right now believes. For the last six or seven years, however, I have found countless scriptures that have changed my thinking considerably in this area. It seems to me that nearly the entire Bible teaches that eternal life is only experienced in Heaven, that Hell is a place of complete destruction and annihilation. Bible Study at God's Message.

God Freed Us Slaves

God Freed Us Slaves - Only two kinds of people do not rejoice in God's redemption in Jesus Christ. The first are those who do not know their own sinfulness. The second are those who have never looked into hell. The person who has seen his sins and looked into hell never stops rejoicing. He understands what God did when God redeemed him. She understands what God did when God redeemed her. The greatest tragedy is one who is a slave to sin and never recognizes it. Are you free? Bible Study at God's Message.

Evil Is Real

2008-09-06 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

Evil Is Real - Christians have an enormous tendency to forget that evil is a real, powerful, every day force or to believe that evil is not a real, powerful, every day force. And you say, Greg, you have to be kidding. Everyone of us knows that evil is real. We see evil all around us every day. We see evil destroying people every day. I can't believe that you would suggest that any of us don't think evil is real. Then we hear that thirty-nine people living in another country are arrested for studying the Bible in a private home. Shepherds For God

2008-07-22 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

Shepherds For God - Peter denied Jesus on three occasion. What a man of emotional contradictions—ready to die for his Lord one moment and swearing no association with him the next. Jesus asked Peter, “Do you love me?” Three times he asks this of Peter. Was it a reminder of the cock crowing after the apostle’s thrice denials? Perhaps. And as each time Peter answered in the affirmative, Jesus simply said, Feed my sheep. Three times Jesus said, Feed my sheep? Why? Because that is what shepherds do. That is what elders do. Insights From Ephesians Part Six

2008-07-04 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

Insights From Ephesians Part Six - The people who wanted to follow Jesus would be baptized (baptism then meant immersion). The people who wanted to follow Jesus would observe Jesus' teachings, his instructions on how to live, His commandments. These people would not prove they belonged to Jesus just by being baptized, but they would change the way they lived by following Jesus' teachings. Today, it is essential to teach people to be Jesus' disciples, to teach people to allow Jesus' teachings and values to determine how they live. Bible Study at God's Message.

Insights From Ephesians Part Five

2008-06-17 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

Insights From Ephesians Part Five - Jesus began his ministry among the Jewish people. He was not what they expected as a Messiah. He spoke of a kingdom that was downright strange to them. He spoke of God's rule in ways they found weird. He indicated that God was interested in people who were not rules-keeping Jews. He indicated they were not God's objective, but a God-intended vehicle to God's objective. Thus many, especially the prominent ones, did what they were supposed to do. They evaluated Jesus. In their opinion Jesus just did not measure up to their expectations. So many of them rejected Jesus. Bible Study at God's Message.

Don't Blame God for Satan's Work - What form of injustice irritates you more quickly than any other form of injustice? No adult has ever experienced that injustice to the extent that God has. Our reasoning is very simple. God knows everything. God even knows the hearts of people. Nothing happens without God's awareness. And God has all power. Therefore God's knowledge and power equals ability and opportunity. All that happens is God's fault--if God does not want it to happen, it does not happen; if God wants it to happen it happens. Life is often confusing. We are constantly trying to figure life out. Quite often we think we have succeeded. About the time we think we have life figured out, something occurs that makes us realize we still do not have life figured out. God is often confusing. We are constantly trying to figure God out. On occasion we conclude that we have succeeded in figuring God out. Just as we come to that conclusion, something occurs that makes us realize we have not even come close to figuring God out.

Insights From Ephesians Part Four

It is an expression of faith for those in Christ. It is not some form of hell insurance. If obedience is viewed as a means to obligate God, it is horribly misguided. Insights From Ephesians Part Three - One of the most powerful negative forces that exist in our society today is discouragement. This force is even more powerful in the church. There are likely more people who worship no where, or have changed to a different kind of church, or who are a loud, negative voice in their congregation because they have been discouraged, than any other negative influence among Christians. As Peter once wrote in 2 Peter 3:9, The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. Are There Real Answers For Aloneness

2008-04-22 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

Are There Real Answers For Aloneness - Why is it the law of Christ that we bear each other's burdens? Why? Because Jesus bears your burdens. He bore our burdens on the cross. Our sins were placed on his body as he died (1 Peter 2:24). He bore our burdens when we were baptized. When in faith and repentance we were baptized, Jesus destroyed every sin we had committed by removing all those sins with his own blood (Acts 2:38; Ephesians 1:7). Knowing what God wants me to be is simpler than understanding what God wants me to do. Know what God wants the church to be is simpler than understanding what God wants the church to do. It is easy to come to the conclusion that God's greatest concern or God's only concern is what God wants us to be. In the weeks that they awaited execution, what were their thoughts? Did they have any form of hope to sustain them, or was there only despair? Did they have any peace within to turn to, or was there only fatalistic acceptance? Did death have meaning, or were they only relieved to end the inevitable? Leadership Profile, From Shepherd to Shepherd

2008-03-11 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

Leadership Profile, From Shepherd to Shepherd - Place yourself in this situation. You have a very important decision to make, and this decision must be made. This decision will affect your future significantly. The truth of the situation is this: it will be impossible for your future not to be affected though this decision. One of two things will be true: your future will be much improved because of this decision, or your future will be much worse because of this decision. The potential for good or for bad in this decision literally is too great to be measured. Bible Study at God's Message.

Decisions, New People Ownership

2008-03-10 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

Decisions, New People Ownership - At Judgment, you won't say, That was them. Because it's all us. We are God's people. We all entered His family the same way. We were all forgiven in the same way. We all serve for our own salvation. It is just us as His people. When we become a Christian, we are automatically added to His church. I am then personally in relationship to God's family.

We invite you to be a part of the people of God. Then grow in awareness and responsibility toward God and His family. What you have to give matters. Your presence is important. We don't save -- Jesus does. Bible Study at God's Message.

Leadership Profile, Crete

2008-03-07 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

Leadership Profile, Crete - To me, the profiles drawn in I Timothy 3 and Titus 1, do not create a check list of qualifications for a generic kind of leadership in congregations anywhere they exist in the world. To me, they stress this essential understanding: spiritual leadership in a congregation provides shepherding while addressing the real needs of the congregation in the real context of their existence. One of the principal reasons that Paul left Titus at Crete was to appoint elders in every city. Bible Study at God's Message.

New People Leadership - Don't forget the declaration that Jesus is alive and He is coming back! If you are a Christian, you are alive because God put life in you, just as He put life into the dead body of Christ. You are alive because He is alive. You are alive when you are in Him. The power is from God to give you a new life, to make you a new person. When He gives you life, you share in Jesus' resurrection. Leadership Profile, Ephesus - In churches of Christ we have great concern for doing Bible things in Bible ways. I totally agree that is a good and legitimate concern. But this is the question we immediately confront: how do you decide what is a Bible thing, and how do you decide the Bible way to do it? Can you see from the scripture that we are not talking about a checklist for selecting an Elder, but the profile of the kind of man that was needed to be a shepherd and overseer in the church at Ephesus? Christianity and Relationships Part Two

2008-03-03 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

Christianity and Relationships Part Two - Nowhere is the destructiveness of selfishness more evident than in family relationships. At its worse, selfishness abuses the people the selfish person should love. He or she is so in love with self he or she cannot care about anyone else. Children are not seen as helpless extensions of us, but as rivals to me. Everything given to a spouse or to a child is something that deprives me. Thus, spouse and children in my family exist to be my servants, to make me happy, to serve my purposes. As long as my family makes me happy, every thing is as it should be. Christianity and Relationships - May I issue a challenge to every Christian: see the opportunity! Do not wring your hands and decry how awful situations are! In Christ, be an example of commitment in your relationships. If a relationship is failing in your life, learn. If that relationship fails, do not make its failure the result of a lack of commitment and learning on your part. Commit! Show people that belonging to God is an asset to succeeding in relationships! A New People

2008-02-28 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

A New People - We can be so focused on what is right that that becomes the only concern. This leads to cold, unsympathetic, formal congregations. They do what's right, but it doesn't change how they feel. When I become what Jesus wants me to be, I can do what's right. I can do what's right with the same old heart, but that is not what God intends. Don't forget about what's right. But put first things first. Let Christ complete His creation. And Jesus Said, You Dont Get It

2008-02-24 :: greg@godsmessageontheweb.com (Greg McAbee)

And Jesus Said, You Dont Get It - It would be incredible to witness what would happen in a congregation, any congregation, if three things happened: no one believed that Christ appointed him or her to tell everyone else what to do; everyone understood that he or she existed as a Christian to serve; as Christians served, no one cared who got the credit. Spiritual Arithmetic

Spiritual Arithmetic - God is not predictable, but God is certain. We cannot tell God to whom He will and will not show mercy, to whom He will and will not show compassion. Oh, I can try to decide for God, but it would be as foolish and meaningless as it would be for a lump of clay to tell the potter what to do. But God's promises are certain. Liberated From The Need To Hide

Liberated From The Need To Hide - My most liberating understanding is the most liberating understanding anyone can have. God's love is not conditional. In God's love, you have nothing to prove. In God's love, you become; you don't prove. And you become through the repentance that happens because you dare come to the light. We are confused about many things in life. Troubles Have Spiritual Purpose - Everybody has troubles. No one wants the troubles he or she has. When it comes to troubles, we have two basic preferences. First preference, we don't want any. We want a daily life that is literally free from trouble of any kind. We spend lots of energy and effort trying to discover a trouble free daily existence. Second preference, if we must have troubles of some kind, we want to swap the troubles we have for someone else's troubles. We want the troubles of our choice instead of the troubles of necessity. What Difference Does It Make - Though we have not intended to, and though we have rarely realized it, for too many years we have taught that it was more important to keep the laws than it was to live the Christian life. We have even convinced people that being a Christian has little to do with how you live; it has everything to do with what laws you keep. So for almost a decade we have created a generation of our own children who have learned from us how to use the Bible to justify whatever they want to justify. Jesus Emphasized The New

In every age, established thought patterns exist and new thought patterns emerge. But fear also has been and is a powerful force in churches of Christ. In the past several decades, our fears have had a powerful influence on our theology. That is definitely true in our study and understanding of faith. In some instances we embrace faith, and in other instances we are afraid of faith.
