The Who

2013-06-01 :: King Richard
Length: 15s

This is the first of a two part series on The Who, i want to get as much feedback as i can from listeners so be sure to leave your comments on the Facebook page.I say The Who! Then everybody these days says who? I say "right, The Who!", and it all begins again. The Who is two syllables slammed into my head with one tremendous power chord loud enough to smash windows. "The Who was the loudest band in the world", I now have to remind young, hip, and incredibly vacant digital know-it-alls..the ones with a smart phone permanently plastered in their palms telling them what to do, where to go, but most frightening, what muzac to listen to. "They use to smash their instruments after killing our ears not so softly", I try to explain to empty and soulless young robots. Pete Townshend banged out the progression on his poor, new innocent Rickenbacker guitar, the one that had seconds to live before it was smashed by his psychopathic bloody hands. I know I cannot explain the Who to those whose parents were not even born when this great storm rained o'er us. But for a brief boom in time we had our own personal continuously exploding Rock N Roll circus. The Who--the only band that ever mattered, really (sorry mop-tops)! So I tell them "..just go put their records on". They tell me "Whhhat?" I scream at the little computers with faces. "Not what--WHO!!" They turn and walk away, still fondling their I-Pads. When the great English actor George Sanders committed suicide, he wrote just two words on his suicide note: I'M BORED. Right you are, ol' George...time to go crank up The Who! Please visit our Facebook page and leave your comments about The Who. We are taking a survey here, trying to find out everyone's feelings about the Loudest Band in the world, The Who. https://www.facebook.com/bluesrockswamp?ref=hl…
