RFTR - What's Going On!?

2013-03-09 :: nigelrunner@gmail.com (nigelrunner@gmail.com)

You may be wondering: "where has the RFTR podcast gone!?"

In case you didn't see my Facebook posting or previous blog post, here is an audio recording (not on the old podcast feed) by way of an explanation. All I can say is sorry and I hope this is a temporary situation.

Here are some useful links I talked about in the recording:

Pause/Break/Reboot....Who Knows

2013-03-08 :: nigelrunner@gmail.com (nigelrunner@gmail.com)

I heard today about some very unsavory practices which involve a company trying to get money out of podcasters based on a supposed patent infringement.

They have been sending out warning letters to podcasters asking for licensing deals and there are veiled threats of legal action.

I love podcasting and I love informing and entertaining people. But if there is any chance I could incur financial hardship for my family (no matter how remote), then I'm sorry but I'm out...

We'll see how this thing pans out and I'll be back if this gets resolved, but in the meantime I'm afraid it's time to turn out the lights... :(

Human greed and selfishness never ceases to amaze me.

RFTR#201 - Bike Hate

2013-03-04 :: nigelrunner@gmail.com (nigelrunner@gmail.com)

This week is, to be frank, a complete grump-fest - apologies in advance for a few minor profanities sprinkled through this episode. My bike and I have had a bit of a falling out and I think our relationship may have broken down beyond repair.

There is also news about my ongoing non-weight-loss and the mediocrity that is my current training regime. Plus, I have a close call with a full bladder and a long line at the supermarket checkout. If you like grumpiness, you'll love this - if not, then maybe not so much...

Out for a run walk in the snow this week. Sorry about the audio quality, it's a bit rubbish in places, but I was suffering with a cross-wind. News this week about my 10 in 10 Challenge, injury advice, a training update, my pedometer and my mixed feelings about things you drop in the toilet cistern to make the water blue.

RFTR#185 - Six Years

2012-08-08 :: nigelrunner@gmail.com (nigelrunner@gmail.com)

It’s been six years (or so) since the podcast started, so in this edition we have a little celebration of the anniversary of the podcast. It’s the usual mix of running chat and inane introspection. This week we have a plumbing update, more cat incarceration, an incident with a pair of binoculars and a nun, some listener mentions and some significant complaints about fellow runners in tight shorts and who pant too much. It’s a rip-roaring roller-coaster of excitement and entertainment (if you’re really bored).
