ASCAP Latino & Top Stop Music Showcases (Podcast Episode - 2013 Latin Billboard Edition)

2013-04-28 :: joseph.mitchell710@gmail.com (Joseph RW Mitchell)
Length: 35s

Spanglish Noise's Joseph Mitchell recently traveled to Miami for the 2013 Latin Billboard Conference and Awards Show.  While popular artists such as Don Omar and Romeo Santos dazzled the television audience with electrifying  performances and numerous awards, most of these viewers did not have a chance to attend the fabulous showcases that were a part of the conference on proceeding nights.  I must note that Mr. 305 inc also had a showcase that flopped due to a faulty microphone, so that has been excluded.  Luckily we are able to present a summary of the ASCAP Latino and Top Stop Music Showcases

The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) held their event on the second floor of YUCA Resturant and Lounge in Miami beach, which was a fabulous intimate setting where the focus was more so on music than on party.  The ASCAP showcase was titled "Latin's Leading Ladies" and featured Mariana Vega, Debi Nova, Kany Garcia, and Lena.  The other showcase was for the independent Latin tropical label Top Stop Music, who proudly displayed both their established artists and latest additions.  The Top Stop Music lineup at Miami's Grand Central featured 5Solz, Jonathan Moly, Leslie Grace, Toby Love, and Tito Nieves. The two showcases combined presented some of the best singer-songwriters and tropical artists in today's Latin market, so we are excited to share this music with you through this exclusive Spanglish Noise podcast episode.

Eli Jas Interview (Spanglish Noise Exclusive)

2012-04-15 :: joseph.mitchell710@gmail.com (Joseph RW Mitchell)
Length: 11s

Today I am happy to share Spanglish Noise's first interview, which is with New York's talented Bachata artist Eli Jas.  If you have not heard her single "Tú Me Haces Volar," you can view the video on my post from earlier this spring.

I truly believe that Eli Jas is the next big artist in the Bachata scene.  Her music infuses elements of R&B, which has proven successful for the popular Prince Royce and Romeo Santos of Aventura, with electronic pop sounds that give the music a modern vibe, while her soulful pop vocals bring the energy, passion, and themes of love that have come to define the genre.

The interview covers everything from the upcoming album to Eli Jas' desire to connect with her fans to Prince Royce and her work with MTV 3's Quiero Mi Bebe (which releases Monday April 16 at 9pm EST).
