The Adventures Of Alfred Hitchcock - Part 2

2015-06-29 :: The Secret History Of Hollywood
Length: 4s

Hitchcock is in Hollywood, but things in America are vastly different to England, where he had been the "Crown Prince of British Cinema".

Hitchcock will soon find himself facing off against the maniacal ego, and the constant interfering, of his new boss, David O. Selznick; an elitist group of British ex-patriates known as "The Hollywood Raj"; and against the people of Britain themselves, who are accusing him of desertion from across the ocean, as they begin the bitter battle against Adolf Hitler.

Along the way, his marriage will be tested, his heart will be enchanted by one of Hollywood's biggest stars, and some of those closest to him will be lost as the world begins to burn.

He will also direct a series of movies that will forever confirm his reputation as one of the world's greatest film directors.

Part 3 of 'The Adventures Of Alfred Hitchcock' is in production, and will be released in Autumn 2015.

Hunting Witches With Walt Disney

2015-02-05 :: The Secret History Of Hollywood
Length: 2s

Once upon a time, Hollywood went to war with itself.

In the mid-1930’s, Communism began to find its way into the film capital of the world, and over the next two decades, it tore the glamorous world of Tinseltown apart.

The story of the Red Scare in Hollywood, that destroyed lives, allowed personal revenges to be taken, and changed the face of Hollywood forever, can be told through the stories of eight people.

Some of the eight made it through unscathed, some were destroyed, but all were changed forever.

But what was the Communist Scare, and why was it so terrifying to Americans in the 40's and 50's?

In this special episode of Attaboy Clarence, hear the epic story of how Red Fear came to Hollywood through the multi-layered stories of Budd Schulberg, Elia Kazan, John Garfield, Dorothy Comingore, Edward Dymytryk, Dalton Trumbo, Walt Disney and Humphrey Bogart.

Sex In Monochrome

2015-02-05 :: The Secret History Of Hollywood
Length: 2s

The Hollywood of the 30’s and 40’s is commonly known as The Golden Age of Hollywood, a time when foundations were built, techniques refined, and legends were born, but The Golden Age was built upon the bones of another generation; a liberal, free-spirited time when Hollywood creatively defied the censors, and let its imagination run free.

Sex was an integral part of film-making from the very beginning, appearing on film just a year after its inception, and remaining one of the most popular, and controversial subjects during the birth of cinema.

In this special episode, we’ll take a look at some of the keystones of sex in cinema, the men and women who were the first sex symbols, and the tragic figures who were its first casualties.

The sex. The lies. The films. The scandals. And the force that finally brought Hollywood to heel in the mid-thirties.
