The Lucifer Effect: Philip Zimbardo on the psychology of evil - Part 1

1969-12-31

In today's show we take a look at the work of Philip Zimbardo, a psychologist whose experiments have demonstrated that there is the potential within all ordinary law-abiding folk to become evil. Zimbardo's "prison experiment" involved recruiting a group of normal young people and arbitrarily assigning them as either prisoners or jailers in a mock prison. It only took about three days before the experiment began to run off the rails, with the "jailers" becoming completely carried away with their power, and the prisoners experiencing mental breakdowns. Many years later Zimbardo wrote the book The Lucifer Effect, the first detailed account of the disastrous experiment, with the aim being to shed light on evil as it is currently unfolding in the world. Zimbardo stresses the point that in institutions that have become systemically evil it is very much up to the lone individual to do something about it. We need real heroes, people willing to risk their livelihoods and their personal safety to restore civilised norms. We cannot simply sit back and wait for the institutions to fix themselves. In the 2nd half of the show today we look at one such hero, Dr Andrew Wakefield, who has confronted the medical establishment and the pharmaceutical giants who are poisoning children with toxic vaccines. We bring you some audio clips of recent interviews with Dr. Wakefield and provide some further analysis. Anatomy of a terrorist attack: the Boston Marathon Bombing - Part 1

1969-12-31

Remains of the pressure cooker bomb believed to been packed with ball bearings Today's show focusses on the recent terrorist bombing at the Boston Marathon. Our aim is to understand the underlying "message" behind this attack, and to deconstruct the MSM propaganda which seeks to portray this as the act of some fringe groups who are disgruntled over gun ownership legislation and the intrusion of government into their private lives. We suggest that the propaganda message being broadcast is indeed far more important than the event itself, which while tragic for those directly involved, was insignificant compared to the daily road toll. The Boston attacks have triggered discussion in Australian media about the threat of "ideological terrorist attacks" - and we provide an alternate analysis of this information. Also in today's show we take a look at the plunging carbon price in Europe (and what that really signifies), as well as some recent developments in the war against vaccine dissidents in Australia. Restore Australia! - Part 1

1969-12-31

On today's show in the second hour we welcome Mike Holt of Restore Australia. Restore Australia’s goal is to amend Section 128 of our Constitution to give all Australian voters, as well as the Parliament, the right to initiate a referendum to amend the Constitution. Why should we do this? "We are tired of the government taking no notice of the people.  We want more say. The Voters are looking for change. Now is the time to re-assert the sovereignty of the People and take control of the manner in which we are governed." In the first hour of the show we bring you a variety of stories including some breaking news regarding Schapelle Corby, who is to be the subject of a telemovie in 2013. We also take a look at recent developments in the Peter Slipper sexual harrassment case and reflect on what this indicates about the level of corruption in government these days. 1969-12-31

In today's show we bring you a wide range of stories from Australia and around the world, leading with the latest developments on the Syrian conflict. In a shocking development, the lead UN investigator into war crimes in Syria, Carla Del Ponte, has announced that the Syrian rebels most likely had used sarin gas and that there was no evidence whatsoever that the Syrian government was responsible for any chemical attacks. In an interview with Swiss radio, she is quoted as follows: According to the testimonies we have gathered, the rebels have used chemical weapons, making use of sarin gas We still have to deepen our investigation, verify and confirm (the findings) through new witness testimony, but according to what we have established so far, it is at the moment opponents of the regime who are using sarin gas. Del Ponte reaffirms these views in a subsequent interview with the BBC: We take a look the latest attacks on the Australian Vaccination Network by the Australian Medical Association, a new hit-piece in the Scientific American on conspiracy theorists and a recent interview with Julian Assange. In the 2nd hour we bring you a highly original and controversial presentation by radical libertarian feminist Karen Straughan.…

The cancer of statism is eating away at the Australian economy

1969-12-31

In today's show we cover some local news, in the wake of announcements that the Australian economy is suddenly looking shaky after several years of moderate growth. In late April the Prime Minister Julia Gillard announced that revenue will be down $12 billion since the October budget update, and that spending cuts and tax hikes can be expected. The government has asserted that the situation has not been caused by excessive spending despite numerous examples of so-called stimulus spending over the past few years, in many cases with extremely poor outcomes, such as the home insulation scheme. We examine these developments in the context of a podcast by Stephan Moylneux, who ascribes this to the "cancer of statism". I am joined today by Josh Jackson who offers his original and incisive analysis of Australia's economic situation.…

No jab, no play - the vaccine crackdown and your rights - Part 1

1969-12-31

In today's show we look at the controversy over vaccines from the perspective of basic human freedom. We propose that, whether or not vaccines are safe and effective, there is a moral imperative to protect the freedom of the individual which is being eroded by medical fascists who seek to make vaccines mandatory. We look at reports of decreasing vaccination levels among some Australian communities and reflect on factors which may have influenced these changes. In the 2nd hour we look at some research into the deep links between the Murdoch family and the pharmaceutical industry, links which may explain, among other things, the sustained persecution of Dr. Andrew Wakefield, whose medical licence was revoked in the U.K. after a sustained attack on his character in the Murdoch press. We consider some research which highlights connections between vaccines, mitochondrial disorders and autism which complements the research of Dr. Wakefield. We also take a look at some recent news from Syria and include an interview with independent vlogger "Syrian Girl". Atmospheric CO2 levels have reached a new high - should we be concerned?

1969-12-31

In today's show we report on the latest climate change news as reported by Australia's national broadcaster the ABC.  On 11 May the ABC reported: The world's longest measure of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has reached 400 parts per million (PPM) for the first time in three million years. We break down and deconstruct the above statement, and analyse the way in which the ABC script writers and journalists play word games in their attempt to persuade you to accept their predefined agenda. The fact is that the world's longest measure of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has only been going since 1958 - it can tell us nothing about the past 100 years, let alone three million! The ABC is a serial offender in misrepresenting science to serve political ends and we call them to account for their abuse of the trust and financial support provided by the tax paying Australian public. We further discuss more unsubstaniated and imprecise allegations contained in the same article. We challenge the widely held assumption that historical CO2 leves were stable up until the latter half of the 20th century and provide peer reviewed research which shows huge fluctuations in atmospheric CO2 over the past 200 years (see image above). Defending your personal health choices

1969-12-31

Jabbed is a documentary produced by SBS televison In today's show we zero in on some of the outright fraud which is being perpetrated on behalf of large companies who make their money from selling vaccines. We go through some facts and figures on the the incidence of pertussis (whooping cough) and contrast these with the blatant disinformation which is being put forth by mainstream news sources who are blaming a resurgence of this and other infectious diseases on parents who choose not to vaccinate their kids. We also take a look at a new documentary, Jabbed,  produced by government-funded TV channel SBS. We analyse the style and presentation of the film, highlighting the propaganda and disinformation contained therein. We propose that making vaccines mandatory undermines the core mechanism which ensures quality control in a free market economy - namely consumer choice. If consumers lose the opportunity to choose between competing products then the incentive for continuous improvement and the stringent application of standards is lost also. In such a scenario we are totally reliant on government regulation to maintain standards, but this is further undermined by the monopolistic control of the pharmaceutical industry by a handful of giant companies whose executives have a revolving door relationship with government departments. The psywar against Edward Snowden and Wikileaks

1969-12-31

As the psywar against Edward Snowden and Wikileaks steps up I want to offer my perspective on some aspects of the situation. Firstly, we have to recognise that in situations where the powers that be are powerless to directly control outcomes, they often resort to indirect means, specifically: innuendo, slurs and rumours which they inject into mainstream media news coverage of their enemies' activities. In the case of Snowden and Wikileaks, the effect of all these innuendos, slurs and rumours is to destroy the public perception that whistleblowers and their facilitators are good people. They work on the basis that perception equals reality. Another way of saying this is: if you throw enough mud, some will stick. These factors should be considered when you read this and this. Of course, the powers that be have been trying to discredit Assange with innuendos for years, so it's not surprising that they are resorting once again to attacks on his character in order to cloud our perception of Edward Snowden's bid for asylum in Ecuador. I am thus sceptical of press reports which insinuate, without any direct quotes, that Ecuador is angry with Julian Assange. I am equally sceptical about claims which have been floated by Webster Tarpley and Naomi Wolf that Snowden is a double agent or a government stooge, and I suggest to you that this is another meme which may have been DELIBERATELY introduced into the alternative media to erode our confidence in this man. In saying that, am I accusing Ms Wolf or Mr Tarpley of being agents of government disinformation? Well, yes, I suppose I am - you have to call a spade a spade - but that doesn't mean I am hinting that they are conscious government operatives. They could just be fools. Perhaps they were seeded with these thoughts and their egos did the rest of the work. Webster Tarpley has a long record of twisting facts and denouncing people with zero evidence. I have zero respect for his opinion generally. As for Naomi, I am surprised and disappointed. I think at the very least it was extremely irresponsible of her to arouse suspicion about a whistleblower who has risked his life to expose egregious crimes of State - and even worse to do so within a few days of his appearence and without any evidence against him! Something bothers me about this, because she should have known better. Maybe I do have a nagging, niggling concern about Naomi Wolf's authenticity...…

Brian Monk on the lies, injustices and public health threats of the coal seam gas industry - Part 1

1969-12-31

My 2nd hour guest in today's show is Brian Monk, a farmer from Queensland who has become a vocal and passionate critic of the Coal Seam Gas (CSG) industry in Australia. Brian is a member of the Lock the Gate Alliance, whose mission statement we present below: The mission of the Lock the Gate Alliance is to protect Australia’s natural, environmental, cultural and agricultural resources from inappropriate mining and to educate and empower all Australians to demand sustainable solutions to food and energy production. We are working in our local communities: home by home, road by road, to lock the gate and protect our land, water and future. The movement against coal seam gas in Australia is very broad, and the concerns people have raised cut across many different issues, such as: property rights public health government corruption scientific fraud In the show today Brian Monk describes his own personal experiences with the CSG representatives who demanded access to his property and his ongoing legal battles. Brian talks about the contamination of his own and other water bores, which leads to flammable gas bubbling up in the water. Brian also talks at length about the health problems experienced by many people who live in the vicintiy of CSG wells and gives his critique of the government-funded scientific investigations which he sees as deeply flawed and corrupted by lobbyists for the mining industry. During the show we also discuss the whole problem of rampant dishonesty in government and science and the psychological characteristics of people who are willing to tell lies and sell out their country for a few dollars. Full body scanners now in operation at Sydney International Airport

1969-12-31

In today's show we re-visit the thorny issue of full body scanners and what they signal for your rights, your privacy, your health and human freedom generally. Full body scanners (millimitre wave) are now in operation at all international airports in Australia. The devices deployed in Australia include what is called "privacy protection" in that the images displayed to operators show a stylised "stick figure" version of the human body. Despite this welcome enhancement, it is still nonetheless true that going through these devices is equivalent to a "strip search" - something that is not normally expected by law abiding citizens going about their daily business. What if I refuse a body scan? If a person refuses to undergo a body scan, and they have no medical or physical condition which prevents them for undertaking a body scan, they will be refused clearance and not allowed to pass through the screening point. They therefore will not be allowed to board their aircraft. This policy not only applies to passengers, but also to pilots, other aircrew, government officers and airport staff.  - source We propose on the show that a national movement of opposition and lawful rebellion against the degrading practice of strip searching air travellers needs to be a top priorty for all who value freedom. Introducing Nicole Bijlsma: building biologist and expert in the health effects of radiation - Part 1

1969-12-31

Today it is my pleasure to welcome to the show Nicole Bijlsma, a best selling author with extensive knowledge on many health issues related to the toxic effects of ordinary things found in your home. Nicole joins us in the 2nd hour of today's show. Nicole's website provides information on the health effects of household chemicals, toxic gases, lead dust and electromagmetic energy, and on today's show she shares with us some of her research with an emphasis on the health effects of various forms of electromagnetic energy, including smart meters, wireless routers and mobile phones. More backgound on Nicole can be found at buildingbiology.com.au: Nicole Bijlsma is a woman of passion, and her passion lies in environmental medicine. She first became interested in building biology as a result of two events that occurred in her life: the first was when she began to notice the connection between many of her patient’s ill health and their homes. The second was her infertility. The cause of her ten miscarriages was eventually identified as an immune disorder (which was diagnosed by a US reproductive immunologist) which she now suspects arose from long term exposure to a high electromagnetic field. Once these issues were addressed, she successfully gave birth to her three children. Nicole is an accomplished naturopath, acupuncturist and building biologist who has been in clinical practice since 1989. She is also the founder of the Australian College of Environmental Studies which was established in 1999 to educate people about the health hazards in the built environment. The college provides nationally accredited training in Building Biology and Feng Shui. Nicole is the author of the book Healthy Home, Healthy Family and is a popular speaker who conducts lectures on sick building syndrome and healthy homes throughout Australia. Nicole has appeared on every major television network including the 7PM Project, Sunrise (five times), the Today show and The Circle and is regularly asked by the media to comment on health hazards associated with our homes. - source In the first hour of the show we cover some recent news, with a critique of ABC Australia's coverage of the Climate Commission report titled "The Angry Summer" Related Links Building Biology (Nicole Biljsmar) Climate change report a wake-up call: Combet Report: The Angry Summer - Climate Commission Dick Cheney: 9/11 Cover Up | Interview…

Count me out of the Sandy Hook truther movement!

1969-12-31

You know what worries me even more than the predatory agenda of the ruling elites? It's the tendency of truthers to fall into line like lemmings on any given conspiracy, to engage in mass group think and, even worse, the readiness to leap to defammatory accusations about people whom they know nothing about. This really worries me, because with friends like this, who needs enemies? People with this psychological tendency could turn on anyone (including their comrades) in a heartbeat, merely because of some allegation or innuendo put forth by a smooth talking youtube vlogger. This type of thing has happened in past revolutions by the way, resulting in purges of alleged "counter-revolutionaries" who were often the best, most honest and genuine. It happened in the French Revolution and the Russian Revolution. For the record, I do NOT believe the mainstream narrative on Sandy Hook. As for the conspiracy claims, I don't believe them either. Actually I don't believe any supplied narrative. I look for facts, which are provable. I believe in my own ability to discern truth from fiction, if there is enough information. If there is not enough information on a given subject, I refrain from making strong assertions. I have questions and concerns about Sandy Hook, but they don't lead to the kind of accusations which are now rampant on the internet. I think accusing grieving family members of being actors without a shred of evidence other than your own dubious gut feeling is sick, pathetic and stupid. I'm ashamed to be associated with people who think like this. Count me out of the Sandy Hook truther movement! Related Links Your comprehensive answer to every Sandy Hook conspiracy theory…

Malcolm Roberts exposes deceptions of the IPCC, Agenda 21 and Carbon Taxes

1969-12-31

Malcolm Roberts is an indefatigable warrior for truth, reason and science, rationally opposing the evolving feudal super state which is now being formed around the world from the broken remnants of western (former) democracies. In today's show Malcolm shares some of his new research into the CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation), exposing conflicts of interest and the distortion of scientific research in the service of political and corporatist ends. You can download Malcolm's essay, "CSIROh! - Climate of Deception? ... Or First Step to Freedom" from our website. During the discussion we look into the agenda of some of the main perpetrators of the climate change hoax, specifically the founders of the IPCC (Inter governmental Panel on Climate Change). We also take a look at the infamous Agenda 21, a blueprint for de-industrialisation and the imposition of an eco-fascist global dictatorship. A great show - don't miss it!  …

Dissent against water fluoridation sweeps through Queensland - Part 1

1969-12-31

In today's show we cover the astonishing story of how 9 Queensland councils (with more considering) have rejected water fluoridation. This avalanche of dissent was triggered by a decision by the State Premier Campbell Newman in 2012 to allow councils to decide individually whether to fluoridate their water. During the show we bring you an original interview with the web master of Fluoride Australia - a website dedicated to countering the government disinformation on flouride and promoting sound science. We also bring you clip from an ABC 7:30 report "hit-piece" on the anti-fluoridation movement. In the 2nd hour of the show I bring you a startling interview with Luke McKee, a man who claims, among other things, that Australian law discriminates against heterosexuality. Luke brings us a story of persecution by the NSW police and unjust laws that can be used to unreasonably detain and intimidate people. Luke joins us by phone from Vietnam. Guilty until proven innocent - the oppressive system of AVOs exposed - Part 1

1969-12-31

In tonight's show we take a look at the travesty of justice known as the Apprehended Violence Order (AVO). An AVO is a restraining order which compels an 'alleged' violent person to stay away from an 'alleged' victim. In a strange exception of the norms of criminal justice , when an AVO is issued the concept of 'burden of proof ' changes it's meaning: The burden of proof is lower for an application for an AVO than for other criminal matters. Instead of the complainant having to prove their fear beyond reasonable doubt, they need to prove it on the balance of probabilities. - source In practice this often results in the accused being forced to 'prove innocence' in order to have the AVO dropped, since all that is required for the AVO to be upheld is for the court to be convinced that the 'protected person' is fearful that the 'defendant’ will commit an act of personal violence, intimidate, or stalk the 'protected person'. More information about the consequences of an AVO can be found here. My guest in the first hour, Neill, brings us his personal experience of an AVO. His story will surely rouse you into outrage over the way in which the legal system in Australia is geared to facilitating lies, corruption and perjury - allegedly in the cause of protecting the weak, but in reality facilitating a regime of oppression of men. My 2nd hour guest David Zwolski brings us some inside information on the machinations of the Zeitgeist movement. David was formerly the lead coordinator of the Zeitgeist movement in Australia, but has since distanced himself from the movement. Our discussion covers David's experience with the movement as well as his views on issues such as sustainability, population growth and the future of civilisation. Child abuse in foster care and orphanages is an ongoing crime against humanity - Part 1

1969-12-31

Forgotten Australians National Day of Action - 6 Feb 2013 With all the news we have heard over the years about the abuse of children in various Church organisations you may have drawn the conclusion that everything is now out in the open and, the worst is behind us and the wheels of justice are now inexorably turning. Think again! The reality is that most of the abuse of children in orphanages and foster care which took place over the past few generations has gone unnoticed by the maninstream media and the courts, and the worst perpetrators have largely escaped punishment. My guest today in the 2nd hour is Gabrielle Phillips Short, herself a survivor of 17 years of abuse in both orphanages and foster care.  Her story is a harrowing one, which she shares with us during the show. More importantly however, Gabrielle is a courageous campaigner for truth, jutice and reconciliation for all the victims of this kind of abuse. Recently she staged a nation-wide rally, "Forgotten Australians National Day of Action". It was a great honour having Gabrielle on the show and I am sure you will find her story rivetting. In the first hour of the show we bring you, as always, our  incisive analysis of a range of local and international news topics.    …

The “Spirit of Australia” grounds its entire fleet and locks out employees

1969-12-31

The company that advertises itself as the "Spirit of Australia" has turned on its own customers, causing untold suffering and stress to thousands of travellers around the world. Tonight John Bursill returns to TNRA  to report on the unfolding disaster at Qantas, which has grounded its entire fleet in a reprisal against industrial action. The grounding of the Qantas fleet was done with no warning to passengers, which makes this action far more disruptive than a strike which would require the union to give 72 hours notice. The image of Qantas is further tarnished by the fact that the CEO of Qantas received a 71% pay rise before the fleet was grounded. A summary of the current situation is provided by ABC News: Industrial action by three unions, representing engineers, baggage and catering staff and long-haul pilots, has been ongoing for several months over pay and conditions. Qantas says that the strike action had until Saturday resulted in 70,000 passengers being affected, more than 600 flights cancelled and seven aircraft grounded. More than 68,000 customers affected since grounding at 5pm (AEDT) Saturday. About 447 flights have been cancelled. The fleet grounding will impact 108 planes at 22 airports, domestically and internationally. Jetstar flights, QantasLink flights and Qantas flights across the Tasman operated by Jetconnect will continue. Jetstar capacity is very limited.  …

Coal seam gas: a new environmental catastrophe unfolds

1969-12-31

Photo: Coal seam gas wells south of Chinchilla in south-west Queensland. (AAP: Supplied) A man-made environmental and human disaster is looming and nobody in power seems to have the will to stop it. It's called coal seam gas (CSG), and it's making aggressive inroads into the Australian landscape, causing illness, despair and dislocation for those unlucky enough to live in its path. This crime against nature is being carried out by large mining corporations like Santos, with the rubber stamp of your government, which of course is raking in the money from the sale of the mineral rights, while the owners of the land are being ignored and driven off the land. Today Jess Moore from stop-csg-illawarra.org joins us to discuss these horrors, and what you can do about the situation. From the website: 15 coal seam gas (CSG) wells have been approved for development in the northern Illawarra. Further wells are being discussed and applied for in the region. These wells are in and around the Sydney Water Catchment, and pose a direct threat to our water supply. We are worried because CSG mining: Always involves contaminated water as extraction of gas draws water out of the coal seam that is highly saline and can contain toxic and radioactive compounds, endocrine disruptors and heavy metals; When using hydraulic fracturing (or fracking), contaminates large quantities of fresh water with sand and chemicals that are pumped underground; Lowers the fresh water table; Is a fire hazard, as wells, processing plants and pipelines leak; Risks a range of direct and indirect health impacts such heart, lung, kidney and neurological problems and cancer; Related Links Alan Jones MUST SEE speech on Coal Seam Gas Lock The Gate: A national alliance of 90 community, industry and environmental groups fighting CSG Gasland Australia: See the trailer for the Oscar nominated documentary, plus the latest news on CSG. How to defeat the carbon tax

1969-12-31

Today TNRA welcomes Tempe Harvey to the show. Tempe Harvey, who has a Master of Laws, practised for 11 years as a solicitor and currently works full-time in her role as a mother of four children in Brisbane. Her interest in politics led her to found Kids First Parent Association of Australia in 2009, to lobby the federal government to end childcare funding discrimination against the majority of families opting for parent care. On the economic front, Tempe is dedicated to defeating both the Carbon Tax and the political party behind it, The Greens. To this end, she has designed a simple, highly effective, low cost campaign to do so. Tempe has developed some excellent techniques for creating mass awareness, and she discusses some of these on the show. We also take a look at the unfolding occupy Australia movement which is due to launch protests in a number of capital cities across the country this week. Is this truly a movement of the people, or is it another controlled opposition with a socialist flavour? All this and more covered in today's show! Interview with Joanne Nova

1969-12-31

Tonight we welcome Joanne Nova to the show. Joanne is one of Australia's most articulate and outspoken climate sceptics. Her website is an international hub for informed discussion on questions of climate, carbon trading and the economy. Joanne's husband, Dr. David Evans, is a mathematician and engineer, with six university degrees including a PhD from Stanford University, who formerly worked at the Australian Greenhouse office (now the Department of Climate Change), modeling Australia’s carbon in plants, debris, mulch, soils, forestry and agricultural products. Together, Joanne and her husband have lectured extensively across the country on why the carbon tax is a flawed solution to a non-existent problem. In tonight's discussion Joanne talks about the reasons why she became sceptical of mainstream climate science, and gives us her opinion on the possiblility of rolling back the carbon tax. We also talk about the Occupy Australia movement and our hope that this popular movement may come to realise that "carbon trading" is an extremely dubious commodity market overseen by a predatory and corrupt banking system - the very thing they are protesting against. From Joanne's website: Jo Nova is a science communicator, she’s presented science on TV, radio, on stage, in cartoons, exhibitions, reports and now in her blog which over 200,000 people visited in 2009. After winning prizes in her science degree in molecular biology, Joanne joined the Shell Questacon Science Circus and spent five years touring Australia first as a performer, then as manager of the half million dollar exhibition with a team of twelve. As an associate lecturer at ANU Joanne helped to develop the Graduate Diploma in Science Communication in its earliest years. In the last two years Joanne has focused on the science of monetary systems, financial history, the gold market, and has also become heavily involved in communicating the science of carbon’s role in Climate Change. Joanne attended the UNFCCC in Bali Dec 07 as a delegate, has spoken in New York at the International Climate Change Conference, and to Staffers of the US Senate in Washington, as well as to Australian leaders of business and banking at Consilium, for the Centre for Independent Studies. Over 220,000 copies of The Skeptics Handbook have been published, printed and distributed in the US, Australia, NZ and Sweden. It was done entirely pro bono, and volunteers have translated it into French, German (twice), Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Turkish, Japanese, Danish, Portuguese, Balkan, Spanish and Thai. Italian, Lao, Slovenian and Dutch versions are coming. In the final segment of the show I am joined on the phone by protester Steph, directly from the the Occupy Sydney rally at Martin Place. In this bombshell interview Steph confirms that the movement is being co-opted and infiltrated by the Green Left, exactly as we described in our previous show. The good news is that many of the people at the protest are awake to what is going on, and are working hard to keep the group open and, as Steph puts it, beyond the left/right paradigm, which is merely a tool for the oligarchy to keep people controlled and divided. I hope you enjoy tonight's show! The “communitarian” world view (for climate dummies)

1969-12-31

On tonight's show we take a look at a recent article by Naomi Klein titled "Capitalism vs. the Climate". In a key passage, Klein states the following: "Those with strong 'egalitarian' and 'communitarian' worldviews (marked by an inclination toward collective action and social justice, concern about inequality and suspicion of corporate power) overwhelmingly accept the scientific consensus on climate change. On the other hand, those with strong 'hierarchical' and 'individualistic' worldviews (marked by opposition to government assistance for the poor and minorities, strong support for industry and a belief that we all get what we deserve) overwhelmingly reject the scientific consensus." This appears to be an admission that the views of the left and the right on climate change are shaped more by their political ideals than by any regard for science based evidence. However, as we have been at pains to demonstrate on this show, the truth is the only thing that really matters, and the attempt to make climate science a political tool to serve agendas for social change is both a betrayal of science and of public trust in scientists. As such it can only be seen as anathema to freedom, democracy and science itself. Nonetheless this style of thinking, which Klein describes as "communitarian", appears to be very influential and many believe that it is the way of the future. In part 2 Steph from Occupy Sydney returns to the show to talk about his recent experiences with the group. After the arrest of many of the risk taking free thinkers, he asserts that the movement is now dominated by collectivst "group think", in which all individual expression is suppressed. A great show! Occupy Australia - has this movement been hijacked by the green left?

1969-12-31

Tonight I am joined by Craig Stanford to reflect on the occupy Reserve Bank protest which we filmed on 15 October 2011. In our discussion we look at some of the techniques being used to create "group consciousness" at the protests here and overseas, such as hand signs and chanting, and we ask whether such tendencies are supportive of human freedom. Although the protesters claim they are the 99%, our finding is that they are largely made up of anti-capitalist, socialist, collectivist and eco-fascist minorites within our society. There was no sign of the huge anti-carbon tax movement, which, according to many polls, represents the views of the vast majority of Australians. Speakers at the event were heavily promoting the "action on climate change" mantra, and the strong presence of the socialist alliance and green left weekly further reinforces the impression that this movement is essentially owned by the radical left. Does the socialist flavour we saw in Sydney reflect the tendencies of the wider global movement? According to Charles Gasparino of the Murdoch-owned New York Post, It’s not an overstatement to describe Zuccotti Park as New York’s Marxist epicenter. Flags with the iconic face of the Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara are everywhere; the only American flag I saw was hanging upside down. The “occupiers” openly refer to each other as “comrade,” and just about every piece of literature on offer (free or for sale) advocated socialism in the Marxist tradition as a cure-all for the inequalities of the American economic system. In Rome, the violence has been blamed on left-wing groups, which is predictable, but possibly an attempt to demonise groups which the government wishes to suppress. Overall, there is still much potential for this movement to become a force for positive change, but there is also a huge opportunity for it to become merely another vehicle for those who think they can steer human civilsation in a particular direction. Under the title "Why are we outside the Reserve Bank of Australia?", Occupy Sydney features this comedy sketch from 2008. The "occupy" groups have been conducting what they call "general assemblies", a term reminiscent of the United Nations. The Sydney group has stated: The GA works on a basis of consensus decision making, and therefore is the only accurate way of representing what the entire group wants the world to know. The Occupy Sydney general assembly at Martin Place aims to provide a forum for all voices to be heard and are constantly learning better ways to be inclusive of all perspectives. Son of Climategate

1969-12-31

After two years, the climategate scandal has erupted once again, with a new tranche of embarrassing emails from the world's top climate researchers now spreading virally across the net. The release of these emails seems timed to overshadow the upcomng Durban conference in the same way the previous release preceded the COP 2009 conference. Chris Smith speaks with Shadow Climate Change Minister Greg Hunt about the leaked emails casting doubt on the science of climate change. The climate science establishment  has predictably hit back with a swift and savage rebuttal: Michael Mann, director of the Earth System Science Centre at Penn State University and a scientist whose name appears in several of the emails, dismissed the latest email release as “truly pathetic”. He instead said the hackers were “agents doing the dirty bidding of the fossil fuel industry know they can’t contest the fundamental science of human-caused climate change. So they have instead turned to smear, innuendo, criminal hacking of websites, and leaking out-of-context snippets of personal emails in their effort to try to confuse the public about the science and thereby forestall any action to combat this critical threat. Its right out of the tried-and-true playbook of climate change denial.” In tonight's show Josh Jackson joins us to mull over this news and other matters of public importance. Please enjoy! The political sacrifice of Schapelle Corby

If you take the information seriously and research the links we provide, you will soon realise that the people who govern you have no decency or integrity. If you have a conscience at all this will force you to take a stand. You will not be able to sit on the sidelines any more. You will be radicalised. The substantive facts in the story of Schapelle Corby are not well understood, largely because the media has done such a good job of muddying the waters and putting doubt into the minds of the public. We wish to set the record straight, and we wish to inspire the people of Australia to demand accountability from their elected representatives in government. We wish to hold the media to account, and we want the purveyors of baseless smears and hit pieces to be brought to some kind of justice. In our system of laws a person is innocent until proven guilty. A person does not have to prove innocence, the prosecution must prove guilt. Like it or not, that is the underlying principle of the laws which govern our land, and that is what differentiates a country like Australia from despotic regimes around the world where people can simply disappear if they offend the tyrants who rule over them. It is central to democracy. We are not claiming absolute proof that Schapelle is innocent. We are claiming an astonishing lack of proof that she is guilty. In addition to that, we have overwhelming evidence that the government colluded in covering up information which may have fully exonerated Schapelle and forced the Indonesians to release her. For a detailed summary of the the key facts in the Schapelle Corby case, please visit the Expendable Project. Today's show consists of 2 interviews. The first, conducted on Sydney's Radio Skid Row 88.9 FM, is an interview with one of the creators of the Expendable Project website, who details for us the bombshell evidence that senior members of the Howard government conspired to misinfom the Australian public, Indonesian prosecutors and defence counsel about crucial evidence that Schapelle's bag had been tampered with during her transit from Brisbane to Bali. In the second interview we talk to Schapelle's uncle Shun Hatton, who knows Schapelle well, and who had been planning to meet her in Bali for the family reunion which ended in disaster in October 2004. To those who think they know Schapelle is guilty, I wish to remind you that every assertion that has been made linking Schapelle to the drug trade has been debunked. Every single one. There is simply no extant evidence that links Schapelle or her family to the drug trade. Her sister Mercedes continues to live in Bali. She has never been a suspect in any criminal investigation and she won a defamation case against Channel 7 over a series of Today Tonight episodes in which Schapelle's former friend, Jodie Powers, made allegations about the family's drug dealing history. It later emerged that Jodie Powers was paid $100,000 by Seven network for airing these baseless allegations on national TV. We have previously debunked other rumours about the Corby family which were circulated by mainstream press. For more information on the smear campaigns against Schapelle please check our previous episodes on the subject, and the Schapelle Corby Media Project. On a final note, if there are visitors to this page who wish to share new information pertaining to this case, we urge you to contact us. Our mission is to find out the truth, rather than to protect or defend any point of view. We will absorb and reflect upon on any new information, regardless of its implications for the guilt or innocence of Schapelle. Interview: Craig Isherwood of the CEC

1969-12-31

Tonight we welcome to the show Craig Isherwood, National Secretary of the Citizens Electoral Council. Craig describes the CEC as a "philosophical" political party with similarities to "old Labor" in the spirit of Curtin and Chifley. During our discussion, we examine some of the main concerns of the CEC, including the restoration of our national sovereignty, the nationalisation and regulation of ownership of shared resources, and the connections between Fabian Socialism, the environmental movement and the hidden agenda of the oligarchy to drastically depopulate the earth. More information about the party is provided on their website: In the early 1990s, the CEC became closely associated with the LaRouche organisation in the U.S.A. Our collaboration with Mr. LaRouche and his cothinkers worldwide, is based on achieving peace through economic development, both for Australia, and for all regions of the world. In 1990, the CEC developed an economic programme for the reconstruction of our nation entitled Sovereign Australia, and in 1994 published Sovereign Australia II—A Legislative Programme to Save our Nation, which latter contained drafts of the necessary legislation for economic reconstruction, including debt moratoria for farmers and the re-establishment of a national bank, among other key elements; these programmes and legislation are far more urgently needed now, than when they were written. By far the most pressing issue of our times, both for Australia and for the world, is the accelerating onset of a new Great Depression, one which was caused by the insane policies of globalisation, privatisation, deregulation, etc., policies which, if not soon reversed, will plunge the world not merely into a depression, but into a New Dark Age beyond the imagination of most people alive today. For over three decades, only one economist in the world has both predicted this new Depression, and has proposed policies on how to get out of it—Lyndon LaRouche. The proposals of Mr. LaRouche, a several-time U.S. Presidential candidate (including in 2004), have earned him the bitter, unrelenting enmity of the City of London and Wall Street, which the old Australian Labor Party denounced as "The Money Power". Together with the news media and government agencies under their influence on several continents, London and Wall Street have mounted what Ramsey Clarke, the former U.S. Attorney General, has called "a broader range of deliberate cunning and systematic misconduct, over a longer period of time, utilizing the power of the federal government, than any other prosecution by the U.S. government, in my time, or to my knowledge". London and Wall Street are terrified that Mr. LaRouche's "New Bretton Woods" proposal to return to a system of sovereign, protectionist nation-states (as in the early postwar period) will bankrupt the power of the world financial oligarchy, paving the way for governments to pursue policies of the "general welfare" or "common good", as opposed to enriching a tiny minority of individuals, at the expense of everyone else. In the show we also look at the ongoing fallout over the whistle blower allegations aired by the Expendable Project in relation to the Schapelle Corby case. Some topics we address include the  familiar, such as the looming attack on Iran, global financial collapse and the Nanny State clamp down. We also look at the psychological mechanisms which hold people back and hinder progress towards real social change. May we wish a happy New Year and Peace to all living beings! Obama Signs the NDAA Citizen Arrest Act

1969-12-31

Obama signing the National Defense Appropriations Act Tonight we look at a variety of local and international stories, with a focus on the ominous passing of the National Defense Appropriations Act (NDAA). The Act allows for the military detention of American citizens without due process, about which writer and activist Naomi Wolf has this to say: Our leaders appear to be supporting this bill thinking that they will always be what they are now, in the fading light of a once-great democracy — those civilian leaders who safely and securely sit in freedom and DIRECT the military. In inhabiting this bubble, which their own actions are about to destroy, they are cocooned by an arrogance of power, placing their own security in jeopardy by their own hands, and ignoring history and its inevitable laws. The moment this bill becomes law, though Congress is accustomed, in a weak democracy, to being the ones who direct and control the military, the power roles will reverse: Congress will no longer be directing and in charge of the military: rather, the military will be directing and in charge of individual Congressional leaders, as well as in charge of everyone else — as any Parliamentarian in any society who handed this power over to the military can attest. Perhaps Congress assumes that it will always only be ‘they’ who are targeted for arrest and military detention: but sadly, Parliamentary leaders are the first to face pressure, threats, arrest and even violence when the military obtains to power to make civilian arrests and hold civilians in military facilities without due process. There is no exception to this rule. Just as I traveled the country four years ago warning against the introduction of torture and secret prisons – and confidently offering a hundred thousand dollar reward to anyone who could name a nation that allowed torture of the ‘other’ that did not eventually turn this abuse on its own citizens — (confident because I knew there was no such place) — so today I warn that one cannot name a nation that gave the military the power to make civilian arrests and hold citizens in military detention, that did not almost at once turn that power almost against members of that nation’s own political ruling class. This makes sense — the obverse sense of a democracy, in which power protects you; political power endangers you in a militarized police state: the more powerful a political leader is, the more can be gained in a militarized police state by pressuring, threatening or even arresting him or her. I am joined in the second segment by John Bursill, who reports on some new research from the Journal of 9/11 Studies. Interview with 9/11 truth activist Manny Badillo

1969-12-31

Manny Badillo (right) with fellow 9/11 victim family member Bob McIlvane at Ground Zero It's our great pleasure today to have Manny Badillo joining us via skype from New York. Manny is one of the architects of the extremely effective Remember Building 7 campaign and was also instrumental in the NYC CAN initiative which garnered 80,000 signatures in a petition to re-open the 9/11 investigation. During the interview Manny recounts the history of how he came to question the events of 9/11 after his uncle, who worked at Marsh & Mclennon was killed in the attacks. We discuss the recent intiatives in which Manny has been involved and the current state of the 9/11 truth campaign. I’m gonna stand my ground and I won’t back down!

1969-12-31

Tonight I am joined by lawyer and human rights advocate Rochelle Macredie. In the show we take a look at some of the major breaking stories in the news and Rochelle gives her analysis of what is required to roll back the march towards war and tyranny which we see unfolding across the world right now. In the second half Rochelle presents some of her research into a bizarre phenomenon known as "animal mutilation". From wikipedia: A hallmark of these incidents is the surgical nature of the mutilation, and unexplained phenomena such as the complete draining of the animal's blood, loss of internal organs with no obvious point of entry, and surgically precise removal of the reproductive organs and anal coring. Another reported event is that the animal is found dumped in an area where there are no marks or tracks leading to or from the carcass, even when it is found in soft ground or mud. The surgical-type wounds tend to be cauterized by an intense heat and made by very sharp/precise instruments, with no bleeding evident. Often flesh will be removed to the bone in an exact manner, consistent across cases, such as removal of flesh from around the jaw exposing the mandible. Since the time that reports of purported animal mutilations began, the causes have been attributed variously to natural decomposition, normal predators, cryptid predators (like the Chupacabra), extraterrestrials, secretive governmental or military agencies, and cults. "Mutilations" have been the subject of two independent federal investigations in the United States. David Cayton who is featured heavily in the film ''Silent Killers'' is interviewed by Theo Chalmers of Edge Media Television. The interview marks the launch of the film which explores a very disturbing subject known as animal mutilation: I hope you enjoy the show! Australian academics advocate killing unwanted babies - Part 1

1969-12-31

The first half of today's show features an interview with engineer and 9/11 truth advocate John Bursill, who has launched a new campaign to oppose a military strike on Iran. John has recently written an article on this subject which is posted at truthnews.com.au. John has organised a protest against the impending Iran war: 24 March 2012 Sydney Town Hall 483 George, Sydney, NSW 2000 I hope to see you there! In the second half of the show we look at a scandal which has erupted over the publication of an article in the the prestigious British Medial Journal which seeks to legitimise the killing of "unwanted" newborn babies. The BMJ has published an article written by two Australian academics titled "After-birth abortion: why should the baby live?". The substance of this article found its way to the front page of the Sydney Morning Herald, one of the top news publishers in the country. The intellectual underpinning of the article appears to be along the lines of the bio-ethics of Princeton University professor Peter Singer. We can illustrate this by comparing quotes from Singer and the authors of the article noted above. Singer (Biomedical Ethics for Engineers): "Human babies are not born self-aware or capable of grasping their lives over time. They are not persons. Hence their lives would seem to be no more worthy of protection that the life of a fetus" Giubilini et al: "The moral status of an infant is equivalent to that of a fetus in the sense that both lack those properties that justify the attribution of a right to life to an individual." "Both a fetus and a newborn certainly are human beings and potential persons, but neither is a ‘person’ in the sense of ‘subject of a moral right to life’." In Singer's utilitarian philosophy "person-hood" is only granted via a complex equation that includes vaguely defined notions of "social utility" and the  "greater good". For Singer, a disabled child is not necessarily a "person", and should be killed "if that was in the best interests of the baby and of the family as a whole". How exactly killing a baby could be in the best interests of the baby is a mystery for us all to consider! In the second half of today's show we canvas some opinions on the subject from several TNRA listeners. We look forward to hearing your comments on this shocking story! The Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement

1969-12-31

Anti-ACTA protest in the Polish Parliament Just when you thought you could relax, after the defeat of the SOPA/PIPA bills in the US, another freedom-crushing legislation rears its ugly head. It's an international treaty called ACTA, which Australia signed back in September 2011. From the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade: Australia is among 10 countries, and the European Union, attending the signing ceremony, on October 1, for the new Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA). Dr Emerson said the new ACTA showed Australia’s determination to secure international cooperation to develop trade in the most innovative areas of the global economy. “ACTA builds on World Trade Organization standards to promote international trade in legitimate intellectual property, by elevating standards of enforcement,” Dr Emerson said. “This treaty will help stem the burgeoning global trade in counterfeit and pirate materials, worth many billions annually.” Today Rochelle Macredie joins us to explain the true implications of this treaty for our freedom and our sovereignty as a nation. Rochelle has prepared a document - "What is ACTA", which we urge you to download and spread. Rochelle highlights some of the practical outcomes of the treaty: A Hypothetical Analogy A hypothetical analogy – person does a cookery course and then shows husband/wife how to make a recipe from that course – ACTA makes both of them criminals!  Only one person has paid to learn this information, so they’re not allowed to share it with anyone else for free!  The consequences are clear under ACTA – depending on the country in which you live, you will be barred from doing any further courses, fined or sent to prison. The Principle of Excessive Surveillance Surely nobody would find out that you have shared this information in your own home, well they wouldn’t under current law but ACTA deals with this by excessive surveillance – all communication will be monitored – your family and your friends will be observed just in case! Let’s see how the principle will be applied to the internet:  Think of your computer with its internet connection as being a two-way conveyer belt with packages of information coming in and going out, under ACTA, your ISP will be forced to open up and inspect every single data package that you send for copyrighted information.  It is not clear that the three strikes rule doesn’t apply here – so if you send or receive copyrighted information several times you may be disconnected from the internet permanently or face criminal charges!  This sort of draconian action would apply if you simply videoed a party that played copyrighted music!  There is more – information about the copyrighted material that you disseminated will be sent to the publisher and based on their claims, you could be fined or sent to prison.   ISPs will also be required to check that no copyright or leads to copyright material are found on their servers:  This would be fatal for any site that held any user-generated content, like music or videos!  YouTube and Twitter won’t be able to work under a law like that!  Rochelle's paper also deconstructs the notion that digitally copied materia is "stolen" by reference to the legal principles animus furandi and asportation: Theft has a precise meaning in law: Animus furandi and asportation are the necessary ingredients.  That is to say, there must be an intention to permanently deprive the owner of possession of the object, coupled with a taking and carrying away.  The former is known as “animus furandi” while the latter is known as “asportation”.  The intellectual property that is copied is neither removed with the intention of permanently depriving the owner of possession, nor is it carried away, it still remains in their possession, so neither copying nor file sharing constitutes theft! Crony capitalism, Iran and the impending oil war

1969-12-31

On tonight's show I am joined by Josh Jackson, to discuss the escalating middle east crisis in the wake of news that the Iranian oil bourse will start trading oil in currencies other than the dollar from March 20. This development is discussed in the context of the crony capitalist system, which uses currency manipulation as the base tool for global domination. We reflect on the possibility that the Iranian "nuclear threat" was concocted in order to provide a justifiable cover for obliterating Iran, whose real threat to the west is in its economic power, derived from the fact that Iran holds the third largest oil reserves in the world. The ruthlessness of the plan of the globalist powers to destroy Iran is highlighted in the attempt to overthrow the Syrian government - one of Iran's strongest allies in the region. We look at the way in which news coverage of events in Syria is in effect war propaganda designed to provide cover for the brutal intentions of the US and its allies, all driven by the fear of Iran's economic power. We put forward the proposition that it is time for all honest citizens of western counries to stand up and demand that their governments desist from this criminal agenda.. MullerGate: a muddled professor who meddled with the media - Part 1

1969-12-31

In today's show we bring you our exclusive exposé of the latest climate science scandal. Richard A. Muller is a professor in physics at UC Berkeley and a faculty senior scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He is the founder of the Berkeley Earth Surface Temperature project, and co-author of a paper which, he asserts, demonstrates that global warming is real and "humans are almost entirely the cause". The claims made by Muller have already been challenged from many different sources, including Anthony Watts and Muller's co-author Judith Curry, but the real bombshell was the revelation that Muller et al's paper which purportedly "proves global warming" had been rejected twice by the Journal of Geophysical Research. Despite this, Muller has engaged, as reviewer Ross McKitrick puts it, in a "media blitz", promoting the conclusions contained in the (rejected) scientific paper. Muller's weighty conclusions were dutifully regurgitated by the New York Times, The Guardian, and our own Sydney Morning Herald. Since McKitrick's revelations surfaced however, something funny has happened to the SMH article. The article published (and printed) under the title "How I saw past the hot air on climate" has apparently been pulled, although it is still indexed in Google. Could this be because Muller's credibilty went down the gurgler? Get the full analysis of this breaking story in our podcast, which features an interview with Malcolm Roberts of the Galileo Movement. A journey into Truth

1969-12-31

In tonight's show we plunge into the deeply confusing realm of philosophy with the objective of understanding the nature of truth itself. In philosophy this type of investigation is sometimes called Epistemology, or the study of knowledge. During the show we look at 2 major philosophical debates which touch on the theme of defining truth and relate them back to some of the content matter covered on TNRA. The first debate we look at is Realism Vs Nominalism: Truth, it is said, consists in the agreement of cognition with its object. In consequence of this mere nominal definition, my cognition, to count as true, is supposed to agree with its object. Now I can compare the object with my cognition, however, only by cognizing it. Hence my cognition is supposed to confirm itself, which is far short of being sufficient for truth. For since the object is outside me, the cognition in me, all I can ever pass judgement on is whether my cognition of the object agrees with my cognition of the object. The ancients called such a circle in explanation a diallelon. And actually the logicians were always reproached with this mistake by the sceptics, who observed that with this definition of truth it is just as when someone makes a statement before a court and in doing so appeals to a witness with whom no one is acquainted, but who wants to establish his credibility by maintaining that the one who called him as witness is an honest man. The accusation was grounded, too. Only the solution of the indicated problem is impossible without qualification and for every man. - Emmanuel Kant The second debate we look at is Rationalism Vs. Empiricism: The dispute between rationalism and empiricism concerns the extent to which we are dependent upon sense experience in our effort to gain knowledge. Rationalists claim that there are significant ways in which our concepts and knowledge are gained independently of sense experience. Empiricists claim that sense experience is the ultimate source of all our concepts and knowledge. Rationalists generally develop their view in two ways. First, they argue that there are cases where the content of our concepts or knowledge outstrips the information that sense experience can provide. Second, they construct accounts of how reason in some form or other provides that additional information about the world. Empiricists present complementary lines of thought. First, they develop accounts of how experience provides the information that rationalists cite, insofar as we have it in the first place. (Empiricists will at times opt for skepticism as an alternative to rationalism: if experience cannot provide the concepts or knowledge the rationalists cite, then we don't have them.) Second, empiricists attack the rationalists' accounts of how reason is a source of concepts or knowledge. - Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy I believe that an understanding of the philosophical problems and arguments over the very meaning of truth are essential if we are to make any progress in our struggle to restore integrity to media and politics. Those who are in the business of mass deception have exploited the insights of philosophy in their efforts to re-engineer the human psyche. In order to turn the tables on propagandists the information warrior must become equally familiar with this territory - a difficult but rewarding challenge.…

In hour 2 we bring you a shocking story of medical tyranny from Australia. The cases we describe illustrate the degree to which the government, child protection services and public hospitals are colluding to strip parents of their basic  rights. These authorities routinely remove children from loving and caring families, causing severe emotional distress and compounding medical problems. The effects of these catastrophic policies will be long lasting and clearly as damaging as anything we heard of in a past era. The stolen generations have never ended. Stop Smart Meters Australia - Part 1

1969-12-31

Today's show features an interview with a representative of Stop Smart Meters Australia, an organisation which is opposing the introduction of electricity smart meters which are currently being rolled out in homes throughout Victoria. From the petition: Victorian Citizens are being forced to have Smartmeters installed without consultation or choice, in total disregard for what they believe are their human rights: to protection from hazards to their health and safety; to choose what is installed in their homes; to protection of their economic interests; to protection of their privacy; to access to adequate information to enable the right to making informed choices according to individual wishes and needs. There are many concerns regarding smart meters including; health issues, including radiation; additional cost on households, the additional costs of time of use tariffs would impose on households; the accuracy of smart meters and the inability of households to check energy consumption levels; that installers of smart meters may not be appropriately qualified; individuals making it known that they did not want a smart meter installed at their property, or wanted their meter removed being totally disregarded problems with wiring, the possibility of fires developing and the loss of appliances following installation and consumers rights for replacement of their assets and appliances insurance concerns privacy of data collected and concerns over hacking of the system to name the main concerns Our show also contains more coverage of the ongoing controversy over the use of tasers by police. My guest in the 2nd hour of today's show is Chris Emery, co-producer of the award winning documentary "A Noble Lie", which exposes the US government's involvement in the 1995 Oklahoma bombing. Rochelle Macredie on the Sandy Hook massacre - Part 1

1969-12-31

My guest tonight is Rochelle Macredie, LLB, BSc, who joins us to expose discrepencies, anomalies and disinformation in the coverage of the Sandy Hook school shooting. Rochelle's incisive intellect dissects many confusing strands of this story in an attempt to penetrate through the propaganda to work out what really happened and the agenda at work. Rochelle provides solid facts which dispel some of the myths about the relationship between the availability of guns and homicide, and presents some shocking revelations about the connection between SSRI medications and aberrant behaviour. Rochelle is a vegetarian and no gun enthusiast, nevertheless she is stridently opposed to gun bans. Why? As Rochelle puts it: since government was the leading cause of death in the 20th century, handing our weapons back to the government may not be the best way to keep us all safe. In the second hour I am joined by Damon Crowe, who brings us his perspective on 2012 and the Mayan connection. Related Links In 1915 in Australia, the homicide rate was 1.8 per 100,000 population. Australia - the new capital of the New World Order?

1969-12-31

Today I'm joined in studio by Damon Crowe for a general discussion about the quality of life in Australia and the way in which our society has been swallowed up by the forces of international homogenisation and enslavement. We look at the cost of living, sky rocketing property prices, and the corporatist, centralised style of government which is now well entrenched in Australia, and the many ways in which the well intentioned "battler" is being crushed by banks. Damon also shares with us some of his research into the work of William Dean Garner, author of "Who Really Owns Your Gold", on the Jesuits and the control of the international monetary system. Radiation expert Don Maisch on the health risks of smart meters - Part 1

1969-12-31

Today we are joined in the first hour by Dr. Don Maisch, the founder of EMFacts Consultancy, which has produced a wide range of reports and papers dealing with various health issues related to human exposure to electromagnetic radiation. From the website: This website was established in 1997 as an independent source of information on the possible health and safety issues arising from human exposure to Electromagnetic Energy (EME). This consists of both 50 and 60 Hertz (Hz) Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) from our use of electricity and Radio-frequency/Microwave (RF/MW) Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) from telecommunications. This site is designed to be utilized as a resource by individuals, groups, organisations and communities who are trying to em power themselves by gaining a better understanding of the complex issues involved with this important environmental issue. In the second hour we enter into a wide ranging discussion on the pros and cons of technology. Every new invention is a two edged sword which can either help to liberate and empower humanity or be used to injure and enslave us. Josh Jackson joins us for the full hour to discuss these ideas and their implications. Fracked to death: how gas companies and their government sponsors are poisoning our drinking water - Part 1

1969-12-31

Explaining coal seam gas and its extraction (Source) Today's show reveals the shocking truth about the toxic, and one might say, genocidal effects of Coal Seam Gas, which is now spreading like a cancer throughout the country in both rural and urban environments. My guest in the second hour is Wanda from northern New South Wales, who has been fighting on the frontline of this war against humanity. Recently she chained herself to a drilling rig as part of a protest against gas drilling in her region. As we noted in a previous show, Coal Seam Gas drilling is coming to Sydney soon, and those who think that this is just a problem for a few unlucky rural folk have a rude shock coming. During our interview we present a range of information about the destructive effects of this technology on both the environment and human health. In the first hour of the show we take a look at the meaning of the word "democracy" with our guest Dan Collins. 3 way discussion on guns, your rights and the Nanny State - Part 1

1969-12-31

President Obama's attempt to "get tough" on gun control has provoked a massive backlash from the patriot community in the US who are sworn to uphold the 2nd amendment at all costs, even if that means civil war. On today's show we take a long hard look at some of the key questions in the debate over gun ownership and what the implications are for the stability of the United States and the world. My guests are regular TNRA contributors John Bursill and Josh Jackson. Our discussion ranges through many issues which affect Australia. Questions considered include the following: Is there a real possibility of civil war in America? What will Australia's future be if US power collapses? Can an armed general population hope to shake off an invader or tyrannical government? What sort of weapons are needed? Is there a viable alternative to the use of force? Is peaceful revolution possible? Lies and cover-ups by the Australian national broadcaster exposed by Chris Graham - Part 1

1969-12-31

Today, in the second hour, we welcome journalist Chris Graham to the show. Chris is the founding editor of the National Indigenous Times and the recipient of the prestigious Walkley Award for Excellence in Indigenous Affairs reporting. In the course of our interview Chris documents a range of unethical and downright deceitful practices engaged by ABC Lateline in their coverage of a scandal which indirectly led to the highy controversial and despised NT Intervention. The "intervention" as it's now simply called, was a combination of draconian changes to the law and unprecendented law enforcement measures enacted in 2007, including roll back of the Native Title Act, quarantining of welfare benefits and deployment of 600 soldiers from the Australian Defence Forces in remote communites in the Northern Territories. The measures were spurred by claims of rampant sexual abuse in remote Aboriginal communities which had first appeared on ABC television's Lateline program in 2006. During tonight's interview Chris steps us through his research which shows conclusively that senior ABC producers engaged in distortion of facts, wanton fabrication of evidence, and used testimony of informants who were clearly lying. Such practices are of course all too common at the ABC, as regular listeners to this show will know. As with the biased reporting and cheap attacks on the character of Schapelle Corby's family, the one-sided coverage of the Syrian conflict or the suppression of critical evidence concerning the 9/11 terrorist attacks,  this shocking story adds weight to the case for radically overhauling or even dismantling the ABC which has flagrantly breached its charter so many times. In the first hour of today's show we give you a different perspective on the question of accesibility of assault weapons in the US in the wake of Alex Jones' highly controversial appearance on CNN with Piers Morgan. I hope you enjoy the show! The pharmacracy exposed, with Thomas Szasz - Part 1

1969-12-31

In the second hour of today's show we bring you some audio clips from the late Dr. Thomas Szasz, psychiatrist, philosopher and intellectual giant of the modern era. Szasz was well known for his critique of biochemical reductionism in psychiatry, but it is interesting to note that he was also a libertarian who passionately believed in the concept of self-ownership and the rights of the individual. Szasz did not see any legitimacy in the the way the State regulates our access to drugs, and the lectures we bring you today highlight some of his ideas in this area. Inasmuch as we have words to describe medicine as a healing art, but have none to describe it as a method of social control or political rule, we must first give it a name. I propose that we call it pharmacracy, from the Greek roots pharmakon, for ‘medicine' or ‘drug,' and kratein, for ‘to rule' or ‘to control.' ... As theocracy is rule by God or priests, and democracy is rule by the people or the majority, so pharmacracy is rule by medicine or physicians. --Ceremonial Chemistry: The Ritual Persecution of Drugs, Addicts, and Pushers, by Thomas Szasz, (Garden City, NY: Doubleday, 1974), p. 139.) More information on this topic can be found in the book Our Right to Drugs: The Case for a Freemarket. In the first hour of the show we review some of the key themes which preoccupy TNRA, and take a close look at draconian changes to the family benefit which will save the government vast amounts of money.  We propose that these changes were needed in order to fund the celebrated carbon tax compensations doled out to low income Australians last year. Well, the money had to come from somewhere!
